MYSTRENGTHS PROGRAM
Our Year 10 students participated in the MyStrengths program, an engaging and empowering experience focused on helping young people recognise their unique character strengths and potential.
Through strengths assessments, small-group discussions, and guided coaching conversations, students explored their personal strengths, built self-awareness, developed confidence and resilience, and strengthened their communication and relationship-building skills. A highlight of the day was seeing students affirm and encourage one another, recognising the positive qualities that make each person unique.
The program provided valuable opportunities for students to reflect on their strengths, build self-belief, and gain a greater understanding of how they can use their strengths to achieve their goals and navigate future challenges.

NATIONAL AUSTRALIAN MARTIME MUSEUM
Last week, Year 9 History Elective students visited the National Australian Maritime Museum. A highlight of the excursion was the Galloway Hoard exhibition, which linked directly to our Peoples of the Sea unit. Students were challenged to think like historians, exploring why a community may have buried its most valuable possessions and what these reveal about life in the past.
Sketching artefacts from the hoard tested students’ archaeological skills, requiring careful observation and interpretation of historical evidence.
Students particularly enjoyed exploring the HMAS Vampire and navigating the narrow passageways of the submarine, gaining a firsthand insight into life at sea.
Throughout the day, students demonstrated outstanding behaviour, showing curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm for learning. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school and embraced every opportunity to deepen their historical understanding.

NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK 2026 'ALL IN ART WORKSHOP'
As part of National Reconciliation Week 2026, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at Kingsgrove North High School took part in an All In Art Workshop with Aunty B, a Wiradjuri artist from Narromine. During the workshop, students learned that in Aboriginal art, a dot is never just a dot and a line is never just a line - each symbol tells a story and carries meaning. Through their paintings, students explored the journey of growing up and entering the wider world, while recognising the important role that family, community and culture play in supporting them every step of the way. The experience reflected the 2026 Reconciliation Week theme, All In, reminding us that we all have a part to play in building understanding, connection and a stronger future together.

The expo provided students with the chance to ask questions, explore a wide range of options, and gather resources to help them make informed decisions about their future.

The event showcased a wide range of education and employment pathways, helping students better understand the opportunities available to them after school and supporting them in planning for their future careers.

A big thank you to Kingsgrove High School, the organisers, and all exhibitors for creating such a valuable experience and for supporting our students as they prepare for life beyond school.
