We were thrilled to welcome back to PVGC Rayan (Class of 2013) to share her inspiring journey with our students.

Since graduating from PVGC, Rayan has completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering at RMIT University and built a successful career in the Med-Tech industry, designing and supporting innovative healthcare technologies.

Students enjoyed hearing about her experiences studying engineering, working in STEM, and balancing a rewarding career with family life as a mother of two.

Her advice to students was simple but powerful:
• Follow what you enjoy.
• Plan your study time wisely.
• Always be open to learning and adapting.

Thank you for returning to PVGC and inspiring our students to explore the exciting opportunities that STEM can offer.

Last week we were delighted to welcome back Alanna Serra (Class of 2014) to speak with our students about her career journey since leaving PVGC.

After initially aspiring to become a lawyer, Alanna discovered through work experience that the path wasn't for her. Following school, she worked in retail before continuing her studies during COVID, which lead her into the beauty industry.

Today, Alanna manages a laser clinic while also running her own successful beauty business. She shared valuable insights about continuing to learn, developing new skills, and staying open to different career opportunities.

It was an engaging session with lots of thoughtful questions asked and insight gained.

Thank you Alanna, for returning to inspire and connect with our students - we loved welcoming you back to PVGC!

This week, our students visited the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre for an insightful session on radiation therapy.

They gained a clear understanding of the processes involved, as well as the study and career pathways into this important healthcare field—an experience that left many students inspired and thinking about their future directions.

A big thank you to Patrick Nguyen and Natalie Szeto for leading such an engaging and accessible session, making complex concepts easy to understand and highly engaging for our students.

A special mention to Uthpala (PVGC Class of 2017), whose journey as a radiation therapist at Peter Mac made the experience even more meaningful.

Thank you also to Eman (PVGC Class of 2010) for helping make this opportunity possible through her support and connection.

Our students walked away inspired, informed, and very grateful for the experience.

✨ Building a Brighter Future Through Connection and Community ✨

We had the privilege of welcoming back Abeer Fatima, Community Awareness Officer at headspace, to Pascoe Vale Girls College. Returning to her roots, Abeer spoke with our Year 11 Psychology students, and the energy in the room was incredible.

Her message was powerful and clear:
“Use your voice and speak up—it’s an asset that will set you apart. Volunteer whenever you can; it won't just build your confidence, it will build your network.”

These are more than just career tips—they are the foundations of a strong, connected community. By encouraging our young people to find their voices and get involved, we are supporting a generation that is both confident and socially engaged.
