Sue Silveira, RIDBC paediatric orthoptist, academic and researcher presented at the recent Australian and New Zealand Strabismus Society meeting in Sydney. This is a specialist interest group of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).

Sue’s presentation provided a research update on the latest data available from the Australian Childhood Vision Impairment Register (ACVIR), an RIDBC initiative, founded in partnership with families, health professionals, educators and other low vision agencies to address the lack of reliable national, state-by-state data on Australian children with vision impairment.

What an exciting experience!

An amazing excursion for the students at RIDBC Thomas Pattison!

Students from RIDBC Thomas Pattison recently enjoyed an excursion to Art Gallery of New South Wales where they enjoyed engaging in an educational artwork experience and had the opportunity to produce some artwork of their own.

A wonderful story!

When Natalie was pregnant with Lila a scan at 26 weeks picked up two heart issues. Just 19 hours after she was born, Lila had her first heart operation. By the age of seven months she had already had 186 medical appointments.

Now, Lila is two years old and is developing new skills with support from the vision and hearing loss specialists at RIDBC!
