🌸 It’s Spring! The weather is getting warmer, so take your Six Bricks outside!

Turn your playground into a science laboratory.

Slide one brick down the slippery slide… then try three bricks together. Race the 2 stacks. Which one gets to the bottom faster?

Then build a little carriage for a leaf or flower and send it down the slide!

Will the carriage stay together? Will your precious Spring passenger make it safely to the bottom?

Big questions, simple experiments and lots of learning.

This Spring, take your Six Bricks outside and see what your children discover! 🧱☀️

🌿 Maths is everywhere — even outside! 🧱

Nature is full of patterns, shapes, symmetry, counting and measuring. And when you add Six Bricks, children can turn those discoveries into hands-on mathematical play.

Try a simple Nature Pattern Challenge:

🍃 Leaf, brick, leaf, brick…
🪨 Stone, stone, brick, stone, stone, brick…

Then ask: What comes next? Can you explain your pattern?

It takes just 10–15 minutes and encourages pattern recognition, sequencing, observation and mathematical thinking — all through play.

We’ve shared the full activity, plus more ideas for using Six Bricks to explore maths outdoors, in this week’s Six Bricks Australia LOWDOWN.

📚 Book Week + Six Bricks 🧱

We’re dressed up.
We’ve read the story.
But we’ve only got 15 minutes for a creative activity!

No problem. Grab your Six Bricks.

After reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, I challenged the children to create a character from the story.

Then came the really important part…

💬 What did you make?
💬 How did you make it?
💬 What was tricky?
💬 What was easy?
💬 Does anyone have a question about someone else’s build?

In just 15 minutes, Six Bricks became a springboard for creativity, problem solving, communication, questioning, listening and imagination.

That’s the beauty of Six Bricks.

Just six purposely coloured bricks.

Endless possibilities. ❤️🧱

🌿 One set of Six Bricks. So many possibilities.

Six Bricks isn’t just for building.

Take it outdoors and suddenly a leaf can become a boat, a stick a bridge, and a pebble hidden treasure. Add Six Bricks and children can build the setting, create characters and bring their own stories to life.

That’s the versatility of Six Bricks — one simple resource that can support imagination, language, creativity, problem-solving and storytelling.

The materials change. The ideas change. The learning changes.

But the play stays active, hands-on and full of possibility. 🧱🌿

🌿🍃 Take Six Bricks outside and watch curiosity grow!

The natural world is full of colours, textures, shapes, and patterns just waiting to be discovered.

With just a few Six Bricks, children become explorers—matching colours, comparing textures, hunting for shapes, and building observation skills through hands-on play.

These simple activities encourage:
🧱 Careful observation
🌱 Rich conversations
🎨 Colour and shape recognition
👀 Curiosity and critical thinking
💚 A deeper connection with nature

Sometimes the best learning happens when we simply step outside.

✨ BIG FEELINGS can be built, explored, and understood through play.

Our latest Six Bricks Australia LOWDOWN shares a simple activity that helps children recognise, express, and talk about their emotions using just six LEGO® DUPLO® bricks.

When children build first and talk second, conversations about feelings often become easier, more natural, and more meaningful.

💛 Read the latest LOWDOWN, try the "Build Your Feeling" activity, and let us know how you use Six Bricks to support emotional wellbeing in your learning environment.

🧱 Words Come to Life with Six Bricks! 🗣️✨

Some of the most powerful conversations don't happen around a table... they happen while little hands are busy building.

Every time a child describes a model, explains an idea, follows instructions or tells a story, they are strengthening the speech and language skills that underpin future learning, friendships and confidence.

This week's Six Bricks Australia LOWDOWN explores how a simple set of six DUPLO® bricks can create rich opportunities for communication through purposeful play.

💛 Try our featured activity:
Describe It, Don't Show It
A fun 5-minute challenge where children build, describe, listen and recreate a model using only spoken instructions.

It builds:
🧱 Speech
🧱 Listening skills
🧱 Vocabulary
🧱 Descriptive language
🧱 Confidence in communication

The best learning often happens when children don't even realise they're learning.

If you're an educator, parent or therapist, we'd love to know...

It's one of the most common questions we hear from educators.

The good news? ✨ Six Bricks doesn't need a dedicated lesson block.
