On Tuesday we celebrated Book Week! 📚✨
Our students brought their favourite book characters to life with some fantastic costumes, creative ideas and plenty of bookish fun.

A huge thank you to our families for helping make the day so special. We loved seeing the incredible range of characters around our school. We celebrated our shared love of reading with a day filled with fun rotations.

Yesterday, we had our Staff Spirituality Day, themed “Hands of God,” which was a beautiful day of faith, reflection and service.

We began with Michael McGirr from Caritas Australia, who invited us to reflect on Mary’s courageous “Yes” at the Annunciation and how we, too, are called to say yes to being the hands of God in our world. He reminded us that our Catholic teaching is not confined to a building but is like a tree—rooted in faith, growing through belonging and bearing fruit through love and action.

Putting our faith into action, staff baked and packed approximately 200 boxes of desserts for Paddy’s Kitchen, to be shared with members of our community in the coming weeks. Our day connected beautifully with Catholic Social Teaching- Solidarity, and we stand together to support the vulnerable in our community.

A wonderful reminder that together, through our hands and hearts, we can make God’s love visible. Together as One.

📢Important Notices for Parents & Carers

🚨School Closure Days
Tomorrow, Friday the 14th August and Monday the 17th August, the school will be closed. Friday is a Time in Lieu Day, and Monday; our staff will gather for our annual Spirituality Day, where our theme is Hands of God. On this special day of reflection, we will be joined by Michael McGirr from Caritas.

The staff will also be participating in Make and Bake as part of the day, where staff will be sharing some of their favourite recipes and the goods made will be donated to Paddy’s Kitchen.

đź“Ś2027 Foundation Enrolments
For the first time in several years, we have reached capacity in our Foundation enrolments. We have capped our intake at 50 students, and we have now commenced a waiting list that already has 7 families on this.

With this in mind, can I please ask for any existing families who have younger siblings coming to St Patrick’s in the next few years, to please make sure they fill in their enrolment forms as early as possible. St Patrick’s is looking to manage a high demand of places within the school community and places are now limited.

If your child will NOT be returning to St Patrick’s in 2027, you must also let the office know at your earliest convenience.

On Friday, our Foundation students celebrated 100 Days of School!
The day began with a colourful parade, students were interviewed and proudly shared everything they've loved about school over the past 100 days.

Students then enjoyed spending time with their buddies and took part in a range of fun 100-themed activities, filled with creativity, teamwork and plenty of smiles.

We are so proud of all our Foundation students. A massive thank you to our Foundation team: Mrs Fernando, Mrs White, Mrs King and Mrs Britt for all your hard work, nurturing and care. Also, a massive shout-out to our parents for 100 lunchboxes!

Last week, some of our classes got into the World Cup spirit with fun soccer-themed activities! ⚽💚💛

We hope everyone is enjoying the school holidays and cheering on their favourite teams. The Socceroos are back in action this Friday against Egypt, and we can't wait to see how they go!

Yesterday, our whole school came together to watch the Ice Bucket Challenge as part of the Grade 6 Caritas Fundraiser. It was fantastic to see our school community supporting this fun and meaningful event, with plenty of laughter, excitement and school spirit!

Yesterday, our Grade 6 students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a printmaking incursion with artist Kate Gorringe-Smith, in partnership with Cardinia Shire Council.

Through this hands-on experience, students explored how artists create artworks that communicate ideas, perspectives and meaning. Each student was given a cut-out of an animal species found within Cardinia Shire and carefully selected leaves to create unique prints on their chosen animal. Kate guided students through each step of the printmaking process, encouraging creativity and thoughtful connections to our local environment.

The artworks created by our students will become part of a future exhibition at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, giving them the exciting opportunity to contribute to a community arts project.

The exhibition, Catchment to Coast, celebrates the waterways that flow through the Cardinia Catchment, stretching from the hills around Belgrave and Emerald all the way to Western Port/Warn Marin. It highlights 12 local animal species and explores their diverse habitat and water needs, while raising awareness of how our environment has changed and the important work being done to restore and protect local ecosystems.

We are incredibly proud of our Grade 6 students and can't wait to see their creations featured in this exciting community exhibition. Thank you to Kate Gorringe-Smith and Cardinia Shire Council for providing such a meaningful and inspiring learning experience.

We look forward to visiting the exhibition and encourage our school community to come along and celebrate the creativity and environmental stewardship of our local community!

Despite the wet and miserable weather, our St Patrick’s girls showed incredible enthusiasm and resilience at the AFL 9v9 Girls Gala Day held at Toomuc Reserve on the 20th of May.

After weeks of lunchtime training and holiday practice, the team played 5 games throughout the day, winning 2 of their 3 pool matches and progressing to the semifinals. The girls demonstrated fantastic teamwork, determination and sportsmanship, supporting each other every step of the way.

A big thank you to Mrs B, Mr Richardson and Jack for their support and coaching, as well as the family and friends who came along to cheer on the team.

We are so proud of the girls’ efforts and can’t wait to see what our Year 5 players achieve next year.

As part of Catholic Education Week, our Year 6 students proudly ran fundraising stalls on Tuesday May 19th to support Caritas and help people in need.

All levels visited the stalls and used tokens to purchase a variety of items including bracelets, baked goods, stickers and pre-loved toys. One of the highlights of the day was voting for teachers to take part in an ice bucket challenge! Mrs B, Mr Richardson and Mrs Escalante, received the most nominations and will bravely take on the challenge in a few weeks.

We are incredibly proud of the teamwork, generosity and enthusiasm shown by our Year 6 students. Together, they raised an amazing $1,142.65 for Caritas.

Thank you to everyone who supported this wonderful cause!
