🎨 ARTIST IN RESIDENCE 🎨
What happens when scissors become pencils?
Over the next two weeks, the boys will be finding out with Dr Oliver Watts (OS 1994), our Artist in Residence. Inspired by Henri Matisse, they are exploring papier collé techniques to ‘draw with scissors’ and create bold, colourful still-life collages of flowers. We can't wait to see their creations take shape.

🌭💙 M***I DAY, MIGHTY IMPACT 💙🌭
There was plenty of excitement around Edgecliff this week as boys enjoyed a sausage sizzle for our M***i Meal Deal fundraiser in support of MS Australia.
A big thank you to our families for their generosity. Every meal deal purchased helped raise valuable funds to support Australians living with multiple sclerosis and the important work of MS Australia.

🌏 TOGETHER FOR HUMANITY 🌏
Big questions, thoughtful conversations and plenty of curiosity.
In workshops with Together For Humanity, our Year 3 boys explored culture, identity and belonging through migration stories and cultural celebrations, while Year 4 challenged stereotypes and built understanding through a fun quiz show-style session with guest presenters from diverse backgrounds.
It was wonderful to see the boys approach these conversations with such curiosity, empathy and respect.

🏂 INTERSCHOOL SNOWSPORTS⛷️
During the holidays, 11 Edgecliff boys competed at the SUBARU Sydney Interschools Snowsport Championships at Perisher, taking on Alpine, Ski Cross, Moguls and Snowboard events.
A highlight was the Division 5 Alpine team, who finished an impressive seventh overall, while several boys also recorded strong individual results across their events.
With challenging conditions on the mountain, the boys showed resilience, determination and sportsmanship throughout the competition. It was a fantastic effort from the entire team and a great representation of Edgecliff on the slopes.

🎨YOUNG ARCHIE COMPETITION🎨
Congratulations to our former Edgecliff Preparatory School student,
Viraj Tandon, winner of the 13–15 years category in the 2026 Young Archie competition.
Viraj’s winning portrait, 'Reflections', captures his brother Angad and explores the harmony that can exist between seemingly different identities.
As Viraj explains, 'My brother Angad is a psychiatrist, devoted to healing the mind; he is also a DJ, connecting people through music.'
We are incredibly proud to see Viraj’s talent, creativity and thoughtful storytelling recognised on such a prestigious stage.
Congratulations, Viraj, on this wonderful achievement!

🎭 CO-EDUCATION AT EDGECLIFF 🎭
At Edgecliff, each year group takes part in our co-education programme with neighbouring girls’ schools, and it is always a highlight.
Recently, Year 4 spent the afternoon with students from Ascham in a Drama session using masks. Together, they explored character, experimented with movement and expression, and enjoyed the chance to be a little bit silly along the way.
There was a great buzz in the room, with lots of laughter and some memorable performances.
