We sat down with Mr Wormwood for a quick interview and, unsurprisingly, some responses were…well, questionable.
Played by the hilarious Shaurya, Mr Wormwood is one of Matilda’s most memorable characters, bringing plenty of laughs, chaos, and terrible life advice to the stage.

People often think music lessons are “just” about learning an instrument or performing on stage.
But music education supports so much more than that.
Confidence. Focus. Creativity. Emotional expression. Memory. Resilience. Communication. Connection 🤍
One of the most special things we get to witness at Amore is children (and adults) starting to believe in themselves.
A child who was too nervous to sing suddenly volunteering for a solo.
A student who struggled to focus, finding calm through music.
Friendships forming in the studio & backstage.
Confidence growing week by week.
The performances are beautiful.
But the growth behind the scenes is the real magic ✨

There is something pretty special about this moment every year 🤍
At the end of each concert, all students come together on stage as one big Amore family for a final group performance. At our 2025 Mid Year Concert, that song was This Is Me from The Greatest Showman and honestly, it couldn’t have been more fitting.
Because concert day isn’t really about perfect notes or flawless performances.
It’s about confidence.
It’s about courage.
It’s about growth.
It’s about having fun.
It’s about students backing themselves, stepping onto a stage, and sharing something they have worked hard to achieve.
Over the past few months, we have watched students learn new skills, overcome nerves, make friends, and discover what they are capable of.
Now they’re just two weeks away from showing you all their hard work ✨
