👧 FIRST AID TIP | COMPRESSIONS ON A CHILD

Do you know the correct technique for performing CPR on a child?

❤️ Use a one or two hand technique on the lower half of the sternum.

⬇️ Compress the chest to approximately one third of its depth.

⏱️ Give compressions at a rate of 100 to 120 per minute.

🫁 CPR is 30 compressions followed by 2 rescue breaths.

Knowing the correct technique and practising it regularly can help give you the confidence to act quickly and effectively to give the gift of time in an emergency.

Woebegone Dive OCEAN SCHOOL TERM 4 ENROLMENTS ARE NOW OPEN!

Woebegone Dive are SO excited for Term 4! They've got a really fun, hands-on and interactive term of ocean lessons planned, getting kids outside, in the water and learning about the incredible environment right here in Jervis Bay.

This term they’ll be diving into:
🪢 Rope tying & practical ocean skills
♻️ Plastic pollution — where it comes from, how it impacts our oceans and what we can do about it
🪸 Low-tide reef walks — exploring rock pools and discovering the creatures that call the intertidal zone home
🤿 Plenty of snorkelling, freediving skills, ocean confidence and marine-life encounters along the way!

Woebegone Dive goal with Ocean School is to help kids become confident and capable in the ocean while building a genuine connection with the marine environment — because they believe kids protect what they learn to love.

Term 4 begins the week of 12 October and runs for 8 weeks.

🐝 SCHOOL HOLIDAY ACTIVITY 🐝

Here’s a great local school holiday activity we’ve come across at Bay and Bush, Jervis Bay Jervis Bay – Nature Retreat.

Their Kids’ Bee Workshops give children aged 5 to 15 years a hands on opportunity to learn about bees, pollination and our natural environment. 🌿

Kids can suit up, visit a working apiary, see a live beehive, hold real bee frames and try to spot the Queen Bee. 🍯🐝

A fun and educational way to get kids outdoors and learning more about the natural world these school holidays.
