⚽️ Girls Knock Out Soccer Team Update! ⚽️

Our senior girls knock-out soccer team battled through to Round 6, where they faced Adamstown Public School and finished with a tough 3-1 loss. We are incredibly proud of their effort, resilience, teamwork, and grit—qualities that truly embody our school spirit both on and off the field.

Well done to all the girls on a fantastic year filled with ‘Southy team spirit’ and impressive soccer skills! Keep shining!

📚✨ “Funny,” “creative,” “hilarious,” “fantastic,” “epic,” “cool,” and “excellent” are just some of the words our students used to describe Tim Harris and their time with him last Thursday!

Tim captivated the students with his storytelling, complete with fantastic voice variations and sound effects. Laughter filled the room during his fun activities, and there was a long queue for book signings!

What an inspiring author visit that truly motivated our young readers and writers!

Next week, our SRC will be selling preloved library books during lunchtime in the library—just 50c per book!

All funds raised will support the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, helping remote communities access new, culturally relevant books, providing early learning resources to Community playgroups, and supporting Communities to write and illustrate their stories in their own language.

Come along, pick up a great read, and help make a positive difference!

📚 Tim Harris visit – This Thursday! 📚

Tim Harris will be visiting Wallsend South PS this Thursday! All students will have the chance to listen and learn from Tim about his books and get helpful writing tips.

If your child owns a book written by Tim, they are welcome to bring it along for a special autograph on the day.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to meet a real author and celebrate the joy of reading and writing!

Another Canberra update 📣

Year 6 have had a busy second day in Canberra. We had a great time at the zoo, challenged each other at the AIS and after a play at the arboretum, learned about dinosaurs. We are ready for bed! We can’t wait for day 3 adventures!
