Paid placements now federally funded!
Thank you NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association
BREAKING: UNION WIN!
The federal government has announced that they will be rolling out paid placements for nursing and midwifery students from July 2025.
This goes a long way towards addressing placement poverty. While this may not be everything that we want, it is certainly a very big and important first step.
A big shout-out to the current and former nursing and midwifery students who fought for where we are up to now. YOU made this important reform happen.

The numbers don't lie. It's clear that nurses and midwives in NSW are undervalued and overworked.
