We are hiring!

NAILSMA is looking for a Project Manager.

The position is part of a multi-disciplinary team and manages collaborations with on-ground, research and government partners, NGO’s and other businesses. Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer this position will provide high level support and take responsibility for independently delivering assigned Projects, as well as mentoring others to do the same. The successful candidate for this role should share our passion for transferring their project management skills and experience to the next generation.

The NAILSMA Project Manager has three key responsibilities:

- Ensure effective project management across the suite of NAILSMA Projects
- Lead the management of selected major projects
- Mentor new and existing project staff to develop their project management skills and supplement areas where development is required.

Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company are inviting Expressions of Interest to participate in our up-and-coming ‘Which Way? Virtual First Nations Poetry Workshops’ facilitated by award winning poet and playwright Jennifer Compton.

Jennifer Compton is based in Melbourne and will impart her wealth of knowledge via a series of zoom poetry workshops and one-on-one sessions for up to 10 Western Australian Indigenous poets. The anticipated outcome is at least one public performance within well known poetry performance spaces.

After the success of our 2020 Which Way? Virtual First Nations Poetry Workshops, we are excited to be running them again! This is a free online workshop series, focusing on poetry performance. The program is open to First Nations poets of all skill levels; from the budding poet to the gigging bard.

When: Sat 18th September 2pm to 3.30pm
Sat 25th September 2pm to 3.30pm
Sat 02nd October 2pm to 3.30pm
Sat 09th October 2pm to 3.30pm
Public performance on the 23rd of October 2021.

Where: Via Zoom – We will send out the link to confirmed participants

Cost: Free! But you must commit to all our four sessions plus one - on - one sessions with Jennifer Compton.
Please note that this program is only open to Australian First Nations Poets based in Western Australia.

If you are interested in participating please email one of your own poems and a short bio to [email protected] by Friday the 3rd of September. We will then let you know if you have been accepted.
