An oldie but a goodie haha my 2 year olds (and almosssttt 2 year olds haha) are building their vocabulary as they match the plastic animals to the picture cards. This hands on experience supports language development as they hear and repeat animal names while also strengthening memory, recognition skills, and early matching concepts.
It’s also a lovely way to encourage focus, independence, and confidence as they proudly find the correct match 🐄🐖🐑🐈🐕🐓🐐🦋

🦝Large outdoor play space with a variety of activities available for free play along with planned activities daily. We also have a huge range of pets that the children get to interact with as well.

Yesterday we got to explore another amazing local park. There were geese with a baby, pelicans, ducks and other water birds that we got to watch diving in the lagoon looking for food. We explored the playground and had morning tea under a beautiful shady tree. So lucky to be able to go on these adventures with my little friends 🫶🏻🦝🩵

Monday had a blast playing with a jelly Christmas tray. The children spent lots of time using the tongs to free the ornaments from the jelly and mixed the cornflour in to create some different textures.
Tuesday we had a blast at a local park and we were lucky enough to be able to check out a big tractor as the council had just finished slashing the grounds as we showed up- this was a huge hit for the tractor loving boys in care that day. We took the balls with us and practiced basketball and soccer and loved searching for the eels and fish in the water reserve.

Today we had a wonderful visit from another family daycare, and our little ones were so excited to welcome our friends and proudly introduce them to all of our animals from the goats, to the birds, to the lizards! 🐐🐦🦎
It was beautiful watching the children share what they know, show gentle hands, and talk about how we care for each of our pets. Having animals as part of our everyday environment offers so many benefits such as building empathy, confidence, responsibility, and giving the children meaningful connections to living things. And sharing these experiences with new friends adds a whole extra layer of social learning and joy!
We loved hosting our visitors and can’t wait for more animal-filled adventures together! 🩵🦝

We had the best time at the Busy Butterflies Christmas playgroup party today! The kids loved munching on popcorn, cooling off with yummy snow cones, and enjoying a classic sausage sizzle. We got creative with Christmas crafts, explored a festive sensory tub, had abblast on the jumping castle and of course finished the morning with the exciting moment… meeting Santa! ❤️🎄✨

Age differences can look tricky on paper, but in real life they create the sweetest moments. The older ones become gentle leaders, the younger ones find confidence, and together they create something truly beautiful. While we try to group children of similar ages together, childcare doesn’t always work in perfect little boxes. But even when the ages vary, it always unfolds into something lovely. The children naturally adjust, connect and create their own harmony. I forever feel so lucky that I get to watch these friendships bloom everyday.

🦝Weekly recap 🦝
Tuesday and Wednesday we had a blast doing water play- the splash pad was popular and matching the coloured balls to the coloured water tubs!
Thursday we explored a park and got tonfeed soem swans and geese and Friday we attended busy butterflies playgroup and celebrated a birthday!
What a full and fun week we have had ❤️🦝
