After the excitement of seeing the Fire Truck earlier this week, our Kindergarten children were eager to keep exploring the people who help our community.

Today, we worked together to identify different community members — firefighters, police officers, doctors, construction workers, lifeguards and more. Using figures and picture cards, the children matched roles, discussed responsibilities, and shared what they already knew.

“Firefighters rescue.”
“Doctors help when you’re sick.”
“Builders make houses.”

In true Montessori style, the children were able to explore this concept hands-on — touching, sorting, classifying and having rich conversations about how each person contributes to our world.

This is how understanding grows:
Experience ➡️ Discussion ➡️ Exploration ➡️ Meaning.
