There won't be a speech at the celebration tomorrow....I'll already be a blubbering mess...so I'll put it in to words here.
This is a tough tough choice I've made, one that's challenged every thought process...am I making the right choice??? I honestly don't know.......
But here's what I do know.....Children are a blessing, they keep it real, they truly have no filter, they dream big, keep you grounded, teach you more than you teach them sometimes, show you unconditional love and live life without a care in the world...obviously there are exceptions but for the most part this is my experience.
I've been their teacher, carer, counsellor, nurse, cleaner, chef, negotiator and their safe space. They've felt loved, safe, trusted me and felt a sense of belonging in my environment. That's all I ever wished for all of them.
You don't click the same with all children but if you show them all the same love and respect they all feel the same sense of belonging. I am proud of myself for being a safe and trusted constant in all my babes lives. I am blessed for that.
Change is hard but I feel a ease in knowing I'm moving on to helping another sector that feels desperate and unheard. I look forward to providing the same care and love to my new and future families in a Support work role.
Huge appreciation to Nature Alliance Family Day Care, you guys are beyond amazing!!!
Excited, sad, scared but I'll be just fine knowing I'll be welcomed back to Family Day Care in a heartbeat if it doesn't work out.
Thank every single one of you who have been part of this journey with me.
