Very excited to be partnering with The Family Place again this term. A short series of free workshops for young people aged between 12-18, including a full day play building work shop on Saturday 5th April! So much fun. If your or a young person you know has been wanting to give drama go, this is an excellent opportunity to try it out for free and make some friends along the way.

🎭 Moruya Stagecraft & Spotlight: Skills for the Stage 🤹‍♂️

Starting on Monday the 24th of February, the Stagecraft & Spotlight workshops will provide a nurturing and safe space where the focus will be on building skills for performance on stage. Speech and drama sessions provide an opportunity for young people to develop confidence and creativity. The workshop offers an inclusive space for young people to challenge themselves while having fun! At the end of the Monday sessions there will be a weekend ‘Play Building’ workshop.

This workshop is FREE and there will be an afternoon tea provided

That feeling when you're an evil step-mum but you're being super nice to your step children so you can convince them into the forest to be eaten by a witch cause you can't afford to feed them any more... Yeah, that feeling

Started this morning off with a self-compassion practice, because starting a business provides a lot of fuel for the inner critic. I have so much confidence in myself to create fun, engaging and inclusive drama classes but the prospect of advertising or promoting them completely undoes me. No matter how old you get, learning and failing are always incredibly hard!

Almost everyone's favourite initiation game - Wasp Nests. Originally call Land Mine (which only strikes a deep sense of despair in me along with images of lost limbs 😣), so gorgeous Nia (not pictured) came up with more whimsical name - thanks Nia! There are still spots available in both classes (though we are almost full in the big kid class) so head over to the website if you would like your kiddo to come along and try it out.

Creating a space where all children can be their true selves, as well as learning ways of managing in the this absolutely chaotic world is one of the main reasons I do this. Drama is so incredibly powerful. As a passionate advocate for neurospicey children, I love the power drama classes have to support these kiddos in developing skills that can sometime seem extra tricky to learn whilst simultaneously fostering their sense of identity and creativity.

Over the past week I have been collecting some bits and pieces from people in our community to use as props and dress ups in drama. The generosity of people in buy nothing groups is such a delight to me. Many of the items have been getting a work out since they arrived home 😂 Lex gave permission to post this amazing weather god working her magic but I suspect one day she will wish she hadn't 😆
