Our preschoolers had so much fun exploring rhythm with Miss Maggie using clapping sticks today! As they listened carefully to the music, they followed directions such as loud, soft, quiet, left, and right. There were lots of smiles, concentration, and energetic movements as the children tapped along to the beat.
Activities like this help build listening skills, coordination, body awareness, and confidence while making music and movement fun!

We cater for children between the ages of 2 - 6 years old through a play based curriculum and preparation for school program.

We were pleased to welcome Ranger Jamie for an Aboriginal cultural Adventure, offering children the opportunity to engage with First Nations culture, stories and ways of knowing.
Experiences like these support children’s learning and
development by encouraging curiosity, connection to Country, and an appreciation of different cultural perspectives.
Through hands-on and engaging activities, the children were
able to deepen their understanding of the world around them and build
meaningful connections to culture in an age-appropriate and enjoyable way.

🐸 Our tadpoles have arrived! 🐸
There was so much excitement across the centre as the children met our newest little friends this week. The tadpoles have already captured everyone’s attention, with the children eagerly observing them, asking questions and sharing their predictions about what will happen next.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be watching them grow and change as they journey through the fascinating life cycle of a frog. Experiences like these provide wonderful opportunities for children to learn about the natural world through observation, discussion and hands-on discovery.
We can’t wait to see how our tiny tadpoles transform in the weeks ahead!

🪐✨ Exploring space with Miss Lisa ✨🪐
There was so much excitement as our Director, Miss Lisa, spent time with the children exploring all things space 🚀
The children loved sharing their knowledge, confidently recognising and naming the planets and showing just how much they have been learning.
As a small, family-run centre, moments like these are what make Edelweiss so special. All of our team is actively involved in the children’s everyday learning experiences, allowing us to truly get to know each child, their interests and what sparks their curiosity.
We love creating meaningful learning opportunities based on the children’s ideas and interests, and right now, space is definitely a favourite 🌎
🌼 Little Voices 🌼
Following yesterday’s National Simultaneous Storytime, we thought there was no better question to ask the children this week than…
📚 “What is your favourite book and what is it about?”
It’s very clear that our little learners LOVE books. From Peppa Pig and Dog Man to Pig the Pug and so many more, the children were so excited to share their favourite stories with us.
Whether they are beginning to recognise words themselves or enjoying cuddles and stories read by their families, books play such an important role in supporting imagination, language, creativity and a lifelong love of reading ✨
🎶 Rainy day music and fun 🎶
What better way to spend a wet morning than singing together!
The children loved tapping along with their musical sticks, joining in with the songs and enjoying all the fun that music and movement brings. There’s always something special about these happy little moments together ✨

🌿 It’s only Tuesday and our Early Learners have already been very busy learning through play.
This week the children have been continuing to strengthen their fine motor skills through a range of fun and engaging activities. From using nature to create beautiful bracelets, to building towers with blocks while counting together and learning about teamwork, there has been lots of creativity, problem-solving and collaboration happening in the room.
We love watching the children learn through hands-on experiences that encourage confidence, communication and cooperation, all while having so much fun ✨

🪐✨ Our Early Learners have been getting creative while exploring all things space!
After discovering one of our little learners’ love for planets and outer space, we incorporated this interest into our program and the children used balloons and paint to create their very own planets 🎨🌎
Art experiences like these encourage creativity, imagination and self-expression, while also helping children develop fine motor skills and confidence as they explore different materials and techniques.
We love watching the children’s interests inspire meaningful and fun learning experiences.
🎶 Rainy morning fun 🎶
What started as some drumming quickly turned into Miss Airien playing her guitar while the children created their own version of musical statues😄
We love these spontaneous moments of creativity, teamwork and fun, especially on wet indoor mornings!
