True story. My goal was always to be for children exactly what they need, and although I am not killing it, I am doing the very best I can.

β¨οΈToday we enjoyed an exciting adventure at the Safe Centre play cafΓ©! The children had so much fun exploring and challenging themselves through active play.
Some of the children are currently learning to climb, while others are building confidence with their smaller legs, and our more adventurous children were racing around with excitement. It was wonderful to see every child participating at their own pace and encouraging one another along the way.
The children enjoyed climbing equipment, swinging on the flying fox, crawling through tunnels, and playing with balls. They were having so much fun they only stopped for drinks and lunch β chicken nuggets and chips were definitely a favourite today!π
Active play experiences like these help children build confidence, coordination, balance, and social connections while having fun in a safe and supportive environment.β¨οΈ

Today the children enjoyed an exciting adventure to the Adelaide Central Market! We parked at the Entertainment Centre and travelled by tram into the city, giving the children the opportunity to experience public transport and explore the community around them.π
As we walked through the market aisles, the children observed the wide variety of fresh fruit, vegetables, and seafood on display. The large fish were a highlight, sparking lots of curiosity and conversation. One child commented that fish do not have eyes, leading to a wonderful learning discussion about the fish we see at home compared to whole fish at the markets.π
The children enthusiastically named the different fruits and vegetables they recognised, building on their vocabulary, confidence, and understanding of healthy foods through real-life experiences.πππππ₯π₯π₯

After a big day of play, learning and adventures, the children enjoyed some calming yoga before home time. π§ββοΈβ¨
This relaxing experience gave the children a chance to slow down, stretch their bodies, practise mindfulness and prepare for a calm transition home after a busy and fun-filled day. π

πβ¨ Weekly Library Visits β Words Grow Minds β¨π
Every week we head to our local library for the wonderful Words Grow Minds sessions. The children absolutely love joining in with the interactive experiences and exploring all the fun activities on offer.
We sing action songs, enjoy story time, dance with scarves, shake egg shakers along to music, and have lots of fun with bubbles! π«§πΆπ
The library also offers different themed boxes that families can borrow, including the Play Box, Sing Box, Read Box, and Talk Box. These boxes are filled with wonderful resources to support childrenβs learning, communication, creativity, and development at home.
Itβs always a fun and engaging morning filled with laughter, learning, and social connections within our community π

We had a wonderful time getting together with Watch Me Grow family day care educators, creating a great opportunity for the children to connect with both new and familiar friends. It was lovely to see friendships growing, confidence building, and children learning through play together.
There were so many engaging activities for the children to explore:
π Playdough fun β The children rolled, squished, and shaped playdough, using cookie cutters to create their own little masterpieces while building fine motor skills.
π¦ Box play β Open-ended box play encouraged creativity and imagination, with children turning boxes into all sorts of exciting creations.
π Cars and car mat β The children enjoyed driving cars along the mat, creating their own little worlds and developing storytelling through play.
𧱠Connecting blocks β Building with blocks supported problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork as the children constructed together.
πΌ Dolls play β Caring for dolls allowed children to explore nurturing roles and build social and emotional skills.
β CafΓ© play β The cafΓ© setup was a big hit! Children explored food play, made creations, and engaged in imaginative role play with friends.
Outside play was just as exciting:
πββοΈ Obstacle course & climbing frame β The children challenged themselves physically, building confidence, balance, and coordination.
π₯£ Crushing cereal β A fun sensory experience where children explored textures and cause-and-effect through hands-on play.
β½ Balls and goals β Active play with balls encouraged teamwork, coordination, and lots of laughter.
It was a fantastic day full of learning, laughter, and connection π

We headed to the park today while the sun was shining βοΈ
The children werenβt interested in the slides todayβinstead, they were drawn straight to the sandpit where the water flows from the tap. They worked together to create a big lake, watching as the water slowly filled it up.
As it got deeper, their play evolved, and they began scooping out channels to make the water flow further, turning it into an even bigger system. Such a great example of teamwork, problem-solving, and creative thinking through play π§

The children really enjoyed visiting the kitchen garden at the Botanic gardens, where they saw lots of fruit, vegetables, and herbs growing β oranges, limes, spinach, capsicum, rhubarb, chilli, zucchini and more! It was a great way for them to see where food comes from.
We also stopped by the lake to watch the ducks and turtles swimming around, which the children loved π¦π’
After a relaxing picnic under the trees, we wandered over to Botanic Park where the children had fun climbing trees and exploring the roots.
To finish off the day, the children collected leaves to bring home for leaf rubbing and painting π
A beautiful day of nature, exploration, and learning! π

We had a lovely day out during the school holidays at Hallett Cove Shopping Centre π
The children had so much fun taking part in the holiday activity, where they got to decorate their own satchel bags or pencil cases. They each chose two patches, which were put on using a Cricut machine, and then enjoyed colouring and decorating their creations.
It was wonderful to see their creativity shine and the pride they felt showing off their finished pieces π¨β¨
