Just before we wrapped up 2025 and stepped into 2026, the Academy returned to ISN to deliver its final course of 2025.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our participants for choosing to learn with NRX Academy during the festive season. Your engagement, dedication, and enthusiasm made this final course of 2025 especially meaningful to our team.

As we enter 2026, we remain excited about the opportunities ahead and grateful for the community that continues to grow with us. We look forward to another year of learning, collaboration, and shared progress.

We are proud to share that Professor Andy Hsu, founder of NRX Academy, has been elected and appointed as a Fellowship Councillor for Asia & Oceania at the RSA (The Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce).

This appointment reflects Professor Hsu’s continued commitment to advancing education, innovation, and cross-regional collaboration, and to contributing to international conversations that shape positive social impact.

Recognition by the RSA, an internationally respected institution founded in 1754, highlights Professor Hsu’s dedication to education, innovation, and collaboration. We congratulate him on this meaningful appointment and look forward to the contributions he will bring through this role.

We’ve been measuring children’s height and weight for generations, yet we’ve never had anything comparable for the brain — no brain growth charts.
This means our understanding of the brain’s normal developmental trajectory, from fetal life to old age, has actually been incomplete.

1️⃣ Why has this been so hard to achieve?

Traditional neuroscience studies typically had:

small sample sizes,
narrow age ranges,
large differences in imaging equipment.

Data from different studies couldn’t be directly compared —
so instead of seeing the full trajectory of brain development, we only saw scattered “snapshots” across life.

2️⃣ The breakthrough: combining MRI data from across the world

Recently, a massive collaboration spanning over 100 studies integrated:

123,984 MRI scans
101,457 individuals
Age range: from fetal development to 100 years old

Using the GAMLSS model, the researchers corrected and standardized data across different studies and scanner types.

For the first time, we can draw brain growth charts across the entire human lifespan.

3️⃣ What we can finally see: how the brain grows, matures, and declines

The new charts reveal clear developmental milestones:

Grey matter volume (GMV) peaks around age 6
Subcortical grey matter (sGMV) peaks around age 14
White matter volume (WMV) peaks around age 29
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) increases steadily with age, especially later in life

These curves form a baseline for what “normal brain development across life” looks like.

The significance of this work goes beyond drawing “pretty curves.”
It provides a scientific foundation:
using large, real-world population data to give individual MRI scans an objective standard of reference.

Just as physical growth charts transformed pediatrics,
brain growth charts may reshape how we understand brain health, disease, and aging.

Here is a surprising fact: although we’ve tracked children’s height and weight for decades, we’ve never had equivalent “growth charts” for the brain.

For the first time, researchers have combined MRI data from over 100 global studies to map how the brain grows, peaks, and declines across an entire lifetime. These brain growth charts give us a clearer picture of what healthy brain development looks like — from early childhood to old age — and may one day transform how we understand brain health, disease, and aging.

We concluded our Neuro Reset Instructor Certification Course, conducted in collaboration with IMU.

This intake brought together a diverse and dedicated group of participants, including attendees who travelled to Malaysia from overseas specifically to attend the course. Their commitment and enthusiasm added significant depth to both the discussions and the hands-on learning.

Healthcare professionals were also able to claim CPD points through this training, which further supported their ongoing professional development across clinical fields.

Throughout the two days, participants engaged in both theory and practical application, exploring how neuromuscular reset techniques can support pain management, functional movement, and overall wellbeing. The practical sessions were especially valuable, giving everyone the opportunity to observe meaningful changes in real time.

We are grateful to IMU for partnering with us once again, and to all participants for your enthusiasm, professionalism, and commitment to learning. It was inspiring to see such a diverse group come together with a shared goal of elevating human movement and health.

As part of the 15th anniversary celebration of IMU’s School of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, our founder, Professor Andy Hsu, was invited to deliver a seminar to an audience of lecturers, students, and health practitioners.

A live demonstration brought his message to life, showing how the brain shapes different aspects of human health. By working with participants, Professor Andy Hsu gave the audience a real-time look at how brain-based approaches can shift responses on the spot.

The session saw strong engagement, with an insightful Q&A on brain function, neuroscience, and participants’ practical applications in clinical settings.

A heartfelt thank you to IMU for the invitation. It was a privilege meeting IMU alumni and so many current and future practitioners committed to advancing health and well-being in the community.

It was great to be back at Institut Sukan Negara Malaysia (ISN) and reconnect with both our returning and new students.

Our 2-day Neuro Reset Instructor Certification workshop focused on applying the Neuro Reset Method to pain management. The course brought together a diverse group of participants — including non-health professionals, Pilates instructors, and TCM practitioners. Their varied backgrounds added depth to both the discussions and the hands-on sessions.

We appreciated the high level of engagement throughout the two days, especially during the practical segments where participants were able to see immediate results for themselves.

Thank you to ISN for hosting us once again, and to everyone who joined us for your professionalism and commitment to learning.

We had a meaningful public seminar with Dr. Tham Keng Seng of Raffles Hospital and Dr. Andy Hsu, the founder of NRX Academy. It was inspiring to see both of them share their perspectives on mental health — blending clinical understanding with a holistic, neuroscience-based approach.

The live demonstration was a highlight. With the room filled to capacity at over 50 attendees, everyone focused in as participants experienced immediate shifts, reminding us why our work matters.

We were glad to welcome participants from both health and non-health backgrounds such as engineering and programming. Beyond earning CME points, the engagement of Q&A session by both health and non-health attendees added valuable perspectives and enriched the discussion.

It was great to see Dr. Tham and Dr. Hsu share the stage. The session felt like a small but important step toward more open, integrated conversations around mental wellbeing in our community.

A warm thank-you to Gretal for generously offering the venue. She first joined our seminar in Singapore last September and later shared how neuro reset techniques made a difference for a long-standing issue. More about Gretal’s story can be found in the post here (https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=122104721421077722&id=61582331674698&ref=embed_post).

#vestibularawareness #invisibleillness #balancedisorder #veda | Vestibular Disorders Association 07/11/2025

Have you ever considered how we manage to stand, walk, and turn with ease?
It all relies on a subtle yet vital system within the body — the vestibular system.
When this system is impaired, maintaining balance becomes difficult, and every step takes effort.

#vestibularawareness #invisibleillness #balancedisorder #veda | Vestibular Disorders Association When the vestibular system is damaged, the brain works constantly to keep you upright. That extra effort drains energy fast — leaving many patients fatigued even after doing the simplest tasks. For people without vestibular disorders, balance happens automatically. For those living with dizziness,...
