Another interesting setup for National Reconciliation Week by our Toddler and Pre-Kinder room, enjoying a meaningful and engaging mark making experience. Children were introduced to a variety of Aboriginal-inspired patterns to explore through mark making. They were also given the choice to paint Australian animals, using the symbolic colours black, yellow and red. This open-ended invitation allowed children to express their creativity while developing fine motor skills and focus.
The children remained deeply engaged in the activity for a long time, showing curiosity, concentration and pride in their creations. Through this experience, children explored art, culture, choice and creativity in a developmentally appropriate and respectful way.

Today we set up two different tables in our Kinder Room to honour National Reconciliation Week and celebrate Australia’s First Nations cultures. We created a sensory literacy experience using red, black, and yellow coloured rice, representing the colours of the Aboriginal flag. Children were invited to explore and trace meaningful sign words such as emu, star, rain, and spear etc using name cards, encouraging early literacy, fine motor skills, and symbol recognition through hands-on play.
Alongside this we also set up an Aboriginal corner where children engaged in imaginative play with community figures. This space supported children to share ideas, ask questions, and explore connections to community, identity, and belonging in a respectful and age-appropriate way.

Through these experiences, children were not only developing literacy and sensory skills but also beginning to understand the importance of culture, respect, and reconciliation. We are proud to support learning environments that nurture curiosity, inclusion, and meaningful conversations from an early age. 🖤💛❤️

Today, as we celebrated World Bee Day, our very creative educator Jaya thoughtfully set up a beautiful bee-themed sensory activity in the kinder room that truly captured children’s interest and imagination.
They eagerly explored the sensory materials, using their hands to scoop, pour, and fill rice into the bee hives. Through this hands-on experience, they naturally developed their sensory and fine motor skills, while also confidently using numeracy skills such as counting & filling.
What made this experience even more meaningful was the children’s emotional awareness. As some children observed the bees, describing how some bees looked happy, while others appeared sad or angry. This opened up wonderful conversations about emotions, encouraging children to recognise and express feelings in a safe and engaging way.
This thoughtfully planned experience not only supported sensory exploration and numeracy learning but also nurtured emotional development and imagination of our little and curious learners.

Our Pre-Kinder room has transformed into a Dino Land. Designed especially for our little dino lovers, this setup invites curious minds to stomp, explore and imagine. From tiny T-rex tracks to hands-on dinosaur play, every corner encourages their imagination, sensory exploration and also early learning through play.

“Because when children learn through what they love, magic happens!”

We’re often asked what being not-for-profit really means for our families.

Simply put, it means that our purpose always comes before profit. Every dollar we make is reinvested back into our centres, to provide children with enriching and safe learning environments.

We understand how important it is for children to be in a place where they feel safe and settled. And when families need to make a change - planned or unexpected - we’re here to help make that transition easier.

We’re here to support families when it matters most – because every child deserves a Goodstart! ✨

We would like to acknowledge the outstanding work being carried out by CWA Werribee South in support of the Hope in a Suitcase Foundation. Hope in a Suitcase is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting children entering foster care by providing suitcases filled with essential items, including toiletries, pyjamas, clothing, toys, and books.
To support this important community initiative, our centre is acting as a designated drop-off point. We extend our appreciation to CWA Werribee South for their leadership and compassion in making a meaningful difference within our community.

We have thoughtfully set up our room to support our new age group of 2.5–4 years, creating a space that keeps children busy, engaged, and feeling secure while smoothly following our daily routines and planning. Each learning area has been intentionally arranged to encourage independence, exploration, and choice. Clear learning zones help children understand where activities belong, making transitions easier and supporting our room routines. Open-ended resources are placed at child height, allowing children to freely access materials and remain actively involved in their play.
Our setup reflects our planned learning experiences, with spaces for creative arts, fine motor development, construction, sensory play, and quiet moments. This balance helps children stay engaged for longer periods while also supporting self-regulation and focus.
Visual cues and predictable layouts help children understand expectations, follow routines confidently, and feel a sense of belonging in the room. The environment is flexible and we will continue to evolve based on children’s interests, strengths, and developmental needs.
We are excited to see our children grow, learn, and thrive in this welcoming and purposeful space.

Today, our kinder room came together to celebrate Harmony Day through meaningful conversations and creative expression. We sat together as a group and talked about what Harmony Day is and why it is important. We discussed how many of us live in Australia while having cultural backgrounds from different countries, and the importance of respecting and valuing one another despite these differences. The children shared their ideas about kindness, respect, friendship, and how everyone is unique and special in their own way. It was heart-warming to hear their thoughts and see their understanding of belonging and inclusion grow through discussion. Children also took part in a colouring activity where they created their own version of colorful people by choosing colours that represented themselves, resulting in a beautiful display of diversity. This activity highlighted the message that we may all look different, but we belong together and are valued just the way we are.

We are proud of the children for engaging so thoughtfully and for celebrating diversity, inclusion, and togetherness in our kinder room.

Today, our Goodstart Werribee Centre proudly opened our Nursery Room to our community and families, welcoming parents and their babies for a relaxed play session. It was wonderful to see families come together, babies exploring the space, and everyone enjoying the opportunity to connect, interact, and introduce themselves in a warm and familiar environment.

We’re excited to share that there are 3 more upcoming Fridays available, and we would love to welcome more families. If you know someone with a baby who would like to visit our nursery, explore the environment, and meet other families, they’re very welcome to join us.
Bookings are essential, so please get in touch to secure a spot.
We look forward to opening our doors to more families and growing these beautiful community connections..
