I thought I’d upload something different and share this video of myself performing a noisy hardcore tune I’ve been working on in the Harmelody Voice space. I’ve been back at delving into darker, distorted toned voices that I am passionate about and music as a whole. The tune I’m vocally covering here is Helvetica by Kiss It Goodbye (For fans of - Deadguy, Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, etc). Amazing band and ridiculously badass track. I am emulating at best the mighty mighty vocal powerhouse that is . Do watch and listen with an open mind and otherwise enjoy for those that like the heavier side of life such as myself. Even if its stylistically not your cup of tea I believe it’s prudent to showcase seemingly unconventional techniques that can be implemented into the vocal palette even if you don’t desire them in the extreme as I’ve displayed here. Singing and or vocalising with techniques such as grit and compression exists through all music genres not just in the heavy categories. It’s all about context after all. This is a taste of what we can explore together for those that are inclined. I’m an advocate for the under-represented, misunderstood and outsiders of conventional singing because this is also where creativity lives. It pushes boundaries. This is a callout and I want it to be known that I’m really psyched to work with aggressive artists. I have struggled my whole life finding a vocal coach that specialises in this field and have pretty well gone it alone when contemporary, classical and even rock-centric teachers couldn’t really assist me here. Through our collaboration we can not unlock these sounds but more importantly do it healthily. Cheers beautiful humans.

Hello everyone, Harmelody Voice is back in action for 2020 and from my new location of Geelong. If not in my area (or whilst we practice social distancing) I do offer skype lessons. A range of reasons for my scarcity on the teaching front but this is mainly because I became a father to my beautiful daughter Frankie. I also joined as singer for Third Eye (Tool Tribute band). With this, I find myself with a new excitement, revitalised with a focus towards my teaching practice. I say this whilst we find ourselves embroiled in the sad calamity that is the Covid-19 global pandemic. Sending love out there to you all. Please look after you and yours at this time. I look forward to seeing you virtually or otherwise. Peace.
