As per usual, I discuss what’s happening through the Chinese Astrological lens, however include references to the Western Astrological paradigms. As some of you may not be familiar with Western Astrology I try not to use too much astrological jargon, with Western Astrological references explained and the themes highlighted.

2025 - The Year of the Snake

Hi everyone

I’m doing my Annual yearly lectures on the Astrology and themes of the Year of the Snake. A full 2 days of lectures will be both live on Zoom and pre - recorded. As usual, a lot of material to cover - it will include the overall themes and chart specifics

Needless to say it looks like another significant and poignant year coming up in this evolutionary transition we are in, as we enter the Fire Season of Years and approach the of culmination of the 12 cycle that began in 2020. 2025 is the 5th year since the events of 2020 propelled humanity forward and we are approaching the 6 year culmination of this 12 Year Cycle

This Fire Year, in the Age of 9 (Fire), and in the absence of the other elements (the Stem of Yin Wood is Weak), looks like it will really move at speed - we will need to take a breath at times

This will be exemplified also by more significant new beginnings - the movement of Major Planets such as Saturn, Neptune and Uranus into New signs. You may of already heard references to this, and we will hear numerous more astrological discussion re these themes. Read huge new beginnings

In the lectures one of the areas I will emphasize is the importance of the other elements, as being the container and foundation for the strong Fire energy. Fire, without authentic Philosophy and Ideology (Wood), informed from the depth, wisdom and understanding of Soul (Water), without discernment of the essence and truth (Metal) and without a fundamental practicality and reality (Earth) can burn chaotically in a frenzied and crazy way, as we are seeing. Briefly all the other elements become very important. I can’t emphasize this enough, of a grounded coherent approach to the year and the next year, the Year of the Horse which is also Fire Element

A Central theme of the Conference was the Current 20 Year ‘Era of 9’ which has been with us for a while but activated this Year, hitting with amplification and intensity. The Element of the ‘Age of 9’ in the Chinese paradigm is the Fire Element with the central themes being Ascension / Clarity and illumination / Light / the impulse to Spiritualism and the higher field of intelligence, and entering a more complex technological era, amongst others

Perhaps it could be also called the ‘Age of Light’ as the following commentary by Pam Gregory discusses just that and correlates with the increase of Solar energy and emanations, and earthly vibrational energies increases etc

Its comes early in the piece is pretty ‘out there’ but seems to be true, and worth a listen and pondering

Upcoming New Moon (NM) in Ta**us (18 Degrees) / on May 8.

We are approaching, for some already immersed in, the energy of upcoming NM on May 7 / 8 at 18 Ta**us (CA = Snake). For those with a Chinese Astrology frame of reference we are in Snake Month. This is another separation / ‘letting go’ / ‘evolutionary leap’ signal, as we transit this new terrain on the Earth (Ta**us).

I’m not going to pull my punches; this may have some kick to it. After the eclipses, the retrograde, and the Full Moon in Scorpio, this could be the big one of the year.

The NM is conjunct (in alignment with) Uranus. Uranus is a revolutionary signal, compelled to sudden, often destabilizing change, and Ta**us is our world. It can sometimes be a very clinical, insensitive jolt. It just throws us ‘out there’

It’s another letting go of the ‘Old Earth’, old ways of being and worldly structures that we may have been dependent upon, even attached to, and have served us well. But time to let them go.

This NM correlates to the NM earlier in the year on February 10. It was in the sign of Aquarius which coincided with the beginning of the Year of the Dragon. ‘One giant leap for mankind’ would be an apt descriptor of this year (as if we need another one after the past few!)

‘One Giant leap’ is not a comfortable configuration - the tension of opposites, the urge for security and stability and feet on the ground (Ta**us), and the urge to stay with the familiar / the secure / the known, versus the compulsion to separate from worldly security, even if we don’t want to.

The tension of opposites has been an amplified central theme since 2020 and especially 2021 - the urge and compulsion to separate and move forward in tension and against the forces of inertia, against the constraints of the past

The tension between the new and the old forces are antithetical. Here we are in the Year of the Dragon, the next phase, the next leap forward.

Not a lot of choice about this NM, we may have to let go. In concordance with Pluto just having gone retrograde, again something may die or end

New potentials and possibilities are implicated in this NM, and they could be ‘big’ with Jupiter in play as well. It looks to have a wide orb of influence so may not be just a day or 2

Courage may be required as there are the fears, anxieties - both conscious and unconscious, that try to hold us back. The used car salesmen are acting on this premise, trying to sell us an antiquated model

This dynamic is referred to as the Crescent Moon Lunation in Western Astrology. It’s a bit like a rubber band - the impulse to move forward (Aries) fighting against the pull back against the resistances of the past. The benefit however is liberation, and as Jung alludes to - it releases the Soul Essence.

It’s a critical phase as the new emerging possibilities, in this case compelled by powerful, almost atomic evolutionary impulses, must be acted upon. It can bring new depth and meaning if we can hang in there. A reasonable frame of Soul reference / Soul Substance is required. We are being deeply immersed

Uranus seems is a central energy to times when there are significant evolutionary signals and phases, like a bunch of fish being thrown up on land and told to grow some legs and get moving - this is your new home. Listening to Bruce Lipton when he talks about evolution, it’s got Uranus’ signature all over it.

In Chinese Astrology we’d be looking at the Thunder Trigram and the Wood Element. Both of these are prominent - ‘front and center’ this year. The nature of Wood is new and continued growth, new possibilities, diversification, and expansion of new philosophy, ideology and momentum toward an innate teleological potential in the New World

This NM is also an ‘earthquake’ signal, so things could shake a bit. My teacher Mr Lo emphasizes this in his yearly outlook. As an unstable signal its best not to make reactive decisions until after the energy settles and you can act from a clear head

It will be interesting to see what occurs under this one and which way this one goes. A Uranian 'adage' is expect the unexpected, and then it may not be that either

We are being propelled, and compelled, into the unknown, the ‘New World’ if you like, or as Dolores Cannon alludes to - ‘The New Earth’

This is a YT link to a lecture I did as part of my Year of the Dragon / Age of 9 series I did earlier in the Year. We have just fully begun the Age of 9 although the themes have been developing for a long time. The Age of 9 is the Fire Element of the 5 Element configuration of Chinese philosophy and medicine.

The Fire Element in the Cycle of the Ages has a 3 fold meaning. Firstly it is the culmination of the 180 Year cycle, the full moon part of the cycle. The Full Moon part of a cycle usually comes in the middle of the cycle before the waning phase begins. However in the 180 year cycle as it is at the end. Therefore it also represents endings, the second meaning.

Within endings, and being the Fire element, it also represents beginning, the 3rd Meaning

Fire, like a bush fire, like light, like consciousness, can move with great speed and is expansive and vibrant. However it requires a balanced, coordinated, integrated, functional and ultimately healthy approach of the other elements to function well.

I did this lecture because I wanted to clarify and explain more thoroughly some themes I had spoken about in the main body of the Dragon lecture series. The area focused upon is the 'Major Archetype' represented by this era

It’s a bit astrological in parts, but hopefully there something in there for everyone

It’s also the precursor to a lecture I am doing at the upcoming AFSC Conference here in Melbourne entitled - ‘Transference / Transcendence and Evolution in the Current Era: The challenges for Humanity through an Age of 9 / Age of 1 / Aquarian Lens’

I was recently asked a question which got me thinking and I composed a response that's led to a post. There’s a fair bit to it. It may speak to you.

The energies are very intense at the moment. Many have been referring to that for a while (like years!). This month is ‘double Dragons’ - be measured and centered and present to the process of your path - this is not an easy energy. Temperance and Prudence rather than reaction

The question:
‘Hey Vic how are you finding the year? I’m noticing more and more psychic / astrologers / mediums turning to god and dismissing divination etc. It’s mind blowing. Something big is going on atm and its causing all sorts of confusion’

My Response:
I didn’t know this specifically about psychic / astrologers / mediums. I'm aware masses, intentionally and being compelled to, are moving / shifting / elevating to the ‘Divine / God. This is astrologically reflected and compelled in both astrological systems - in the Chinese system as the ‘Age of 9’ officially beginning this year and being further activated by the Dragon Year. In the Western Planetary system there are numerous planetary signatures such as the current Jupiter / Uranus Conjunction, Saturn / Neptune in Pisces and the Aquarian energy, which are compelling with great intensity a shift away from the worldly to the mystical and its possibilities. We are moving into new territory. Under demanding transits we may be feeling exhausted and drained. Some are the custodians of this evolution - the ‘volunteers’ as Dolores Cannon refers to

The current Eclipse cycle is also very intense. With the Eclipse Degree (19 Aries) going thru the Eye of Chiron, the wounded Healer, you may be experiencing pain (in fact quite piercing pain) and issues that are the focus of attention to be healed. But this theme is not a short term one. Chiron has been going thru Aries (the masculine) for many years. This signature specifically focuses and brings forward the issue of wounding and healing - of men and the masculine (animus) in women. This is a really interesting theme that requires more reflection in an era of the re-emergence of the Feminine Soul. The healing of the opposite is required?

Under a Chiron in Aries transit, relationships may be going thru distress as the theme is ‘what do I want (Aries) c/w what do ‘we’ want (Libra) - ‘Am I acting in accord w who I am, am I being true to myself’, and with a full Moon in Scorpio coming up (April 23 / 24), what needs to change at a fundamental level, what needs to be transformed. We aren’t getting a break for a while.

The Dragon is an 'Earth' Element year indicating worldly transformation and dedicated application to the task

Mercury, going retrograde, is also aligning with this Chiron / Aries signature, amplifying this theme. Mercury Ret as we know demands re-assessment and re-evaluation, in this case of ‘what I want’ and existing relationship structures.

The stops are being put in the Aries impulse to move forward. Not comfortable. I don’t want to be insensitive, but some relationships will bite the dust under this one

Chiron in Aries, briefly and loosely said is about the wounding of the masculine. The masculine of men & the masculine of women (animus). Congruent with wounding is the possibility of healing. Under the expansive, amplified, evolutionary cosmological energies we are under, time is necessary for this one.

We are dealing with wounding, with ‘stuff’ that goes along way back - wounding, that if not resolved that we take into relationships. Our cards have come up

Jung refers to this under the auspices of the ‘Mysterium Conjunctionis’ - it is time to bring the opposite within oneself into balance and accord. Chiron is the bridge to be traversed that facilitates connection. This is also in the Aquarian domain (w Pluto moving thru Aquarius), of the impulse and call to become a more elevated human being, is to heal and attend to what within us in not elevated

Interestingly Chiron is symbolically represented by a bridge, a Rainbow Bridge, but a Bridge none the less. Interesting a major Bridge disaster occurred under this Eclipse. Perhaps something needs to be demolished, so it can be re-built more authentically and realistically

This post from the astrologer Pam Gregory from a few days ago was really interesting, which points to the positive breakthroughs that are happening:

‘I'm noticing that many people over the last few days with the Total Solar Eclipse are experiencing a healing from a long term challenging situation or habit. Remember that Chiron, the wounded healer, was EXACTLY conjunct the Total Solar Eclipse Super Moon. They are suddenly having clarity, or seeing things from a higher perspective, or a shift, or a detachment . . . however it happens the energy is lighter. Less stuck, and more accepting and loving. I'm seeing this all around me and it's wonderful to witness. It's interesting that Chiron orbits BEYOND Saturn, so we are more easily able to go beyond our previous attached painful patterns, quite suddenly. We are gradually becoming the light body, able to hold this new light, and releasing the old. The effects of this Eclipse will last for many weeks, and we still have the powerful Jupiter-Uranus conjunction this month representing awakening to a higher consciousness’

W/ r to the question asked yes something massive is going on and will continue, will actually intensify. It is confusing on the outer level, but with the bigger transcendental energies, it demands and compels an internal frame of reference.

We are in an Eclipse Cycle as well as the Mercury retrograde Cycle which officially turns on Tuesday / Wednesday.

The Lunar Eclipse last Sunday / Monday was in the Sign of Libra (relationships). Relationships are front and centre. There are polarizing dynamics of clarity, yet confusion / delusion. Best to act with discretion as Venus, the Ruler of Libra, is in Pisces, which may not give clarity about a situation, especially under an Eclipse, hence reflection before decision is an appropriate strategy.

The archetype of wounding and healing (Chiron) is also central under the upcoming Solar Eclipse. Under this Eclipse, a wound can be triggered, giving the opportunity for healing so healthier relationships become possible. This signal is particularly potent at this time

The Solar Eclipse (March 9 / 10) and the retrograde are in the sign of Aries. Under Aries, the most Yang of the signs things happened. Stay Centered and Grounded. Aries is the sign of beginnings. Good to focus on to begin to manifesting what may have been gestating for a while, perhaps the last few years.

Aries is the impulse to push forward. Under a retrograde, actions can be slowed, held up, blocked or thwarted. If there’s one sign that does not want to be held back, it’s Aries. So this can be frustrating and infuriating. Better measured and conscious actions, perhaps energy being channeled into exercise against resistance, like weights class, or walking up a mountain carrying weights (especially with Mars about to come into connection with Saturn)

There may be the impulse to lash out. Clarity and stillness, before action

At the time of writing the ‘government’ has tried to push thru (Aries) a digital ID bill, but this seems to have been thwarted somewhat (Retrograde)

This cycle coincides with the Chinese Astrological Month of the Dragon, (beginning April 4) in the Year of the Dragon, and the month of the Snake (May) in the Year of the Dragon. Double Dragons is a challenging but an evolutionary signal in the sense of letting go of an existing reality and traversing into an (unknown) higher one.

Nearly all the current planetary signatures are challenging - therefore compelling growth. May - the month of the Snake has the activating and revolutionary Jupiter / Uranus Conjunction (which is dominating the Astrological airwaves), in the sign of The Earth / money / possessions = Ta**us. This energy has been with us for a while.

Things will happen.

A Jupiter / Uranus signal are both signs of elevation, expansion, radical (Uranus) new possibilities, insights, awakenings, visions and new potentialities. I feel we are present to the next split of another group of some of humanity, separating from the old outmoded structures and moving into new (unknown) territory

You may be feeling an energetic amplification, intensity and volatility. Evolution is happening. The energy / frequencies and vibrations are ramping up - again. Follow Evolution.

Aquarius, a vibrational sign, asks of us to be elevated human beings. Follow that. Follow the ordinances and dictates of Heaven

Lastly the used car salesmen (and women) are sharpening their pencils and forked tongue is starting to flicker. Don’t buy what they are selling. Don’t follow the crowd at chow time. Know that things are shaky and unstable at time of evolution / radical unexpected change and were more vulnerable to be seduced by an illusion of security. Resolve

Follow Evolution. Intention in this direction can help make this timeline constellate as naturally, as effortlessly, and as beautifully as possible

Just a note about the upcoming Astrology

The next series of New Moons and Full Moons look particularly challenging beginning with the Next New Moon - August 15 / 16 in the Sign of Leo (23 Degrees) (Antiscia 6 Ta**us).

This New Moon is in a tight configuration with Uranus, representing change / disturbance / sudden unexpected events / revolution / evolution / instability, which may kick start the next phase. Not a lot we can do about this energy except ‘let go’ into the unknown as we are continuing to be separated from the existing multidimensional ‘old’ fabric we have been embedded in for who knows how long

Venus (values / relationships / money / assets), in its current (tough) retrograde, has also been in aspect to Uranus for a month or 2 now. Relationships may be dropping like flies, with changes in finances, as well as the circumstances and structures we have been secure in. Not easy, nor comfortable. Venus retrograde can also be the return of old relationships, (to be cleaned up). Lastly Venus in Leo asks us ‘what are our real values, what are ‘my’ essential values?’. Anything less than this and its bye bye Charlie

Looks like we may be in for a bumpy ride leading into a powerful the Solar Eclipse 21 Libra (14 / 15 October), and then beyond. Libra - again a relationship signal. Aughh, does it get any easier? But this eclipse, in aspect to Pluto, (profound change asking for the old to die) asks for continued transformation

Id be approaching this next phase with a degree of caution, in a measured conservative way to see which way this thing goes. Many of the Planets, including good old Mercury, are in their retrograde, or about to head into their retrograde phase, over the next few months. This again emphasizes the need for a more cautious, thoughtful, and reflective approach, to see what comes at us

A central message of Mercury retrograde in Virgo, encourages us to return to, and attend to essential health routines - physical, psychological and spiritual, or otherwise. Get what’s not in order, into order - Very Virgo. Bunker down and get ‘centred’

Look like there’s a big turn in the road leading into the Year of the Dragon (begins February 4) 2024. No surprise as this has been mentioned extensively. August 8 is also the turning point of the Chinese Astrological year. This coincides with what I’ve heard to be the ‘Lions Gate Portal’, but don’t know much about that

The Year of the Dragon coincides with the 20 Year change of Age into the ‘Age of 9’, the element of Fire. The Fire element only comes along in its 20 Year phase once every 180 Years. Fire moves with velocity. The Astrology at the start of next Year, and progressing through the Year looks turbo charged - as they say ‘we aint seen nothing yet’. Thing move with momentum. To move coherently, if we have been heeding the messages and challenges of the last many years, we may have installed the radar to navigate this new landscape

Remember, in a larger picture we are traversing the Capricorn / Aquarius interface. Simply said, we are moving from the old established (now outmoded) structures of Governance, dominated by the oppressive corporations (Capricorn), into an Aquarian sensibility. A central theme of Aquarius is to become a more ‘elevated Human Being’. But to be more ‘elevated’ we have to deal with what in us is not elevated. Hence the squeeze. Bummer

The image that comes to mind with the next phase of New / Full Moons is of an arrow in a bow, being drawn back, …. drawn back, …. drawn back ……… and gets released into next year. Hence a good time to think about which way you (individual), and us (collective) want to aim this thing

There is a very powerful astrological event coming up in 2023. Pluto’s entering into (Ingress) into Aquarius. (who writes this script?)

There will be a lot of information come out about this, both as astrological as well as social commentary, as we approach this Ingress on March 24 2023. It is an enormously powerful energetic shift, the emphasis shifting on the focus of the ‘government’ and current corporate ‘authority’, to the group. But its not all bread and roses. This is very complex and multi layered. There will be a lot of material coming out as we approach this event in March

As an aside March 24 is close to March 21 / 22, the start of the Western astrological year where the Sun goes into Aries. The ruler of Aries is Mars and it will be in Gemini

Read: a torrential flow of communication and information, movement, separation

As a start in an idealistic way we can read the Ingress of Pluto into Aquarius is the empowerment (Pluto) of the group. But it will also make us address what we need to do and transform so that a group / a society / a community is coherent and function. As we have seen with the Canberra protests and the Federal ‘election’, we have a way to go. Interesting that the word community is essentially ‘common - unity’. Are we there?
