Thank you to the 210+ Junior Scientists who attended one or more hands-on PrimeSCI! science workshops at Swinburne Wantirna last week! 🚀

We made poo, tested magnetic forces, sketched dinosaurs, launched bottle rockets, tested bioplastic spoons, mixed colourful potions, built and tested kites, and viewed the night sky. Phew!

🌱 Celebrating a strong Term 1 at KIOSC – with standout success in VCE Biology
Term 1 has been an incredible start to the year at KIOSC, and we’re proud to celebrate the impact our programs have had on students and teachers across our network.
A special highlight this term has been VCE Biology, where students moved beyond theory and into authentic, hands‑on learning through our VCE Biology Masterclasses, including DNA Manipulation and Genetic Technologies. These sessions enabled students to work with industry‑standard biotechnology techniques, deepening conceptual understanding while strengthening assessment readiness.
What’s made this success especially meaningful is the feedback from educators:
✅ Programs tightly aligned with VCAA Unit 3 Biology
✅ Access to practical experiences not feasible in many school settings
✅ High levels of student engagement and real‑world relevance
✅ Learning that builds confidence, curiosity, and capability
