A unique day with this industry visionary - Synergie Founder & Formulator - Terri Vinson Jones, a Cosmetic Chemist and Skin Scientist who creates ethical evidence based skincare right here in Melbourne.
Terri and her incredible team generously gave their time to welcome our Bachelor and Associate Degree Dermal students to their HQ today for a unique insight into how this globally celebrated brand formulates, manufactures, packages, distributes, markets and provides education for their clients all in this vertically integrated business operation.
Very few brands formulate and produce in Australia, which is why Terri is highly regarded as an innovater who can maintain complete quality control over every aspect of ingredients and formulations which is why Synergie is such a successful results driven skincare brand.
Our Dermal Degree students learnt about Terri's story, visited the research and development laboratory, microbial lab and were taken through every step of the product development journey from concept to ingredients to final product.
Capping off today's visit was an introduction to Synergie's Practitioner Suite of high performance skincare products only available to a select group of Cosmetic Doctors, Dermal Therapists and Dermal Clinicians providing exceptional treatment experiences to their clients.
In what can only be described as an eye-opening and inspirational day of learning, our Dermal Degree students were privileged to spend the day with such a true visionary and pioneer of our industry and her team in this world class facility.
As a celebrated and internationally renowned Dermatologist, Dr Alice Rudd was one of the early adopters to integrate the role of Dermal Clinicians into her Dermatology practice.
It was a concept that made a lot of sense and is now replicated by many major Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeons and Cosmetic Doctors who employ our Bachelor Dermal Degree Graduates throughout Australia.
Offering world class advanced skin and laser treatments by Dermal Clinicians alongside a medical Dermatology practice giving her patients the very best of both medical and topical skin treatments.
That was many years ago when she established Skindepth Dermatology and this week Dr Rudd raised the bar once again with the establishment of the impressive Skindepth Cosmetic clinic offering an expanded array of clinical Dermal services.
Congratulations to the 2025 ADSI Academic Medal recipients, Ruby and Melissa.
They each receive a $5000 bursary award generously provided by industry leaders :

The ADSI Academic Medal is awarded to Bachelor Dermal Degree Graduates with the highest academic achievement throughout the Dermal Degree.
Achieving consistent High Distinctions throughout the Degree requires dedication, focus, attention to detail and outstanding committment.
For Ruby, her Dermal Degree journey began 4 years ago with the Beauty Diploma at elly lukas.
For Melissa, it was 6 years ago whilst at School completing the VET Beauty course at elly lukas, followed by the Beauty Diploma.
