We took some time to focus on our own businesses and families, but for the past few months we’ve been busy behind the scenes putting together a brand new workshop UNPOSED POSING Online Photography Classes].

It’s a 2 week workshop focusing on easy and natural lifestyle poses and prompts for your own families and/or your clients that will leave you never drawing a blank again!

This week we’ll be taking over the Online Photography Classes] feed. We’ll be sharing some tips and some behind the scenes videos and answering any questions you have about the workshop, so come over and join us!

WEEKEND SHOOTING CHALLENGE: The Colour Blue💙

Let’s all shoot some blue this weekend. You can use water, ice, a wall, a painting, crayons, Lego, etc, etc. You can even incorporate this month’s creativity exercise of shooting the sky! Be as creative as you wish, just try and make the blue your main character or a very important secondary character.

Be sure and tag us so we can see your beautiful BLUE images!💙

QUICK TIP: Don’t forget to prep your client before you session!

Your client prep, however you choose to do it, is almost as important as the session itself.

Make sure they know what they need to do to prepare for the session, what they should wear, what they should bring, what they need to do during the session, what you will be bringing, how long you’ll spend with them, what happens after the session, how long till they see their images, what happens if the kids need a break or a snack, what happens if the kids misbehave or want nothing to do with you. Put yourself in your clients’ shoes and answer all the questions they may have BEFORE the session date. This is key for helping everything run smoothly on the day.

QUICK TIP: Try shooting in Live View. And not just for those overhead or hard to see through the viewfinder shots. Sometimes just stepping back and looking at a screen can give you a completely different perspective on the scene happening in front of you...which can also be handy if you're feeling a bit stuck in a rut!

QUICK TIP: Squeeeeeeeze yourself behind furniture!

QUICK TIP: SLOW DOWN!!!🐢🐢🐢 Don't spray and pray and just hope you capture you something decent. Instead, slow down. Think about the scene that is unfolding before you and how best you can capture it. Move your body. Adjust your camera angle. THEN click the shutter. By trying to reduce the number of shots you take, you'll develop better instincts and save yourself hours of editing time on all those extra images!
