Busy women, busy lives, yet we can feel lonely and isolated. A small conversation over a cup of tea can change a whole day.
Join in sewing, friendship, information sessions, find help, links, education, a career path. Our aim is to allow women from any culture or age to freely and happily enter into a group setting where they feel welcomed and accepted and interact together as equals to build long-lasting friendships across cultures and ages. WFC provides a safe and welcoming venue, accessible to women on foot and with
transport, in venues where they can obtain legal, health and service information from guest speakers and local service providers. Women also have the opportunity to learn skills through workshops both provided by WFC and at other venues
Women need a forum where they can voice their questions, difficulties and opinions and also communicate in a relaxed environment that is not regimented; the Friendship Cafe offers them this opportunity. The Women’s Friendship Cafe provides participants with a diverse range of activities in direct response to their stated needs. We welcome them and our trained workers are sensitive to the issues raised and seek to refer women to opportunities, engage appropriate agencies to deliver programs on parenting, legal matters, women’s rights and issues, health, safety, employment, centrelink, driving, education and citizenship. We aim to empower women with what they need at the stage of life where they find themselves. Pakenham is run on Thursdays at Living and Learning Pakenham. Cranbourne is at St Johns church on Wednesdays.
