Latest project shared with us by Jules Karatamba Mucyo from Kigali, Rwanda.

From Jules: I'm a visual artist who tried to expand my knowledge about engaging myself in building playground equipments. I'm planning on building more, but also adding some toys which the kids may play with them in an open space. This project was about recycling art whereby I chose to use many tyres for the sake of saving nature in making playground equipments. I have no organization, but I dream to have it in the future as well as i will continue to expand this project and getting some sponsors to work together, thank you Playground Ideas.

Why science says kids should have fewer toys 21/12/2023

As we head into Christmas this is some critical food for thought about getting the best outcomes for our children. 🤔

“Many parents of young kids may feel pressure to fill their homes with toys, especially this time of year. But after researching the topic with her team at the University of Toledo, Metz, an occupational therapy professor, learned that having fewer toys doesn’t just make parents less crazy. It’s better for kids, too.
The Post spoke with experts on childhood development to understand how play helps children become more creative and flexible, and learn important skills such as problem-solving and collaboration. One of the takeaways is that having fewer toys around leads to deeper engagement with each of them, which promotes creative thinking”

That’s why I developed the pod. I think everyone is seeking more calm, connected, clutter – free creativity for and with their children.

Why science says kids should have fewer toys ‘Tis the season to buy toys. But research shows that less is more, for sustainability, and for kids’ play.

When students are deep in play, they always own their own learning.
