Grandmothers. Nurturing, loving, and vital figures in the family.
Growing up, I am blessed with 3 of them. In my early years, I was nurtured by Mbah Ning (She was my mum's aunty that raised my mum with love and dedication) & when I am 10 years old my Grandma (my Dad's mum) raised me. When I moved to Australia, I was also blessed with the love and acceptance that I received from Liam's grandmother. She took me under her wing and opened her house, her heart, and her family to me.
Made Australia feel like home since day 1.
I found a Christmas card with Liam's grandma's handwriting. Using Silhouette program and machine, I made this memory pillow for one of her daughter. ♥️

My mum was a woman with multi talents. She was amazingly smart, creative, brave, and beautiful. She was a businesswoman, sewist, make-up artist, and chief of her village (Lurah). She passed away before my 9 birthday after a long battle with breast cancer.
I always remember the sound her sewing machine, when she made kebaya for some important woman (ibu pejabat) that want it custom made.
I started into sewing when my daughter was born. I want to make bibs and dress for her. I learned from youtube, and then I studied clothing production at RMIT. I still wish I had the chance to learn it from my mum. c'est la vie.
Batik top that I made from my mum's fabric.
Black linen short I made 3 years ago, it's been very loved as you can see by the faded colour 😄.
What skill did you inherited from your parents ?

Just a Mama want to brag on how good her little boy painting is 🥰.
Jordan has been enjoying painting lately, and I have to share his masterpiece with family and friends as a wrapping paper. 🎁

Sewing taught me patience, creativity, and mindfulness. I've been back to sewing again (I mean creating and not altering garments 😅), slowly, when time permits. This week, I made bandana bibs for my little friend Isaac.

Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.

Matching shorts for my boys.
Considering that both of these boys are half Balinese, neither of them are good with the heat. During the summer you will see them like this most of the time 😁🌞

I found joy in Sewing. For a moment, it was just me and my sewing machine. My mind is clear and I enjoy the creativity that I can pour into my projects.
This is my patchwork project, made from batik scraps. I love batik, it always makes me feel like I am home. I love how soft the fabric turns, the more you wash it.
