The Reserve Bank of Australia has dropped the official cash rate this afternoon by 0.25% to 4.01%.

This is the first rate cut since 2020 and will be very welcome news for many mortgage holders. Banks will be under huge pressure to pass on this cut to their customers.

A portion of our mortgage is still fixed at an historically low rate of 1.9%, but only for a few more months. This cut will certainly help ease some of the burden with the current cost of living.
