Quote for the week. Let’s aim to think less, and ‘be’ more!

If you don’t think you need to work on your breathing, you definately need to work on your breathing.

Love your work this is the most user friendly book I’ve read on the subject!

Breathing is the new core stability. Invest some time and energy into it now, before it gets dumbed down and bastardized.

Great to see this champ back on the start line after such a challenging year! Congratulations to everyone participating in a very tough race in very tough conditions. PSA: if you were racing today and had a tall, bald and really really good looking bloke help you with your rain jacket, shoot me a message, I have your arm warmers.

Nice to get the chockies in the men’s 10km today. Full disclosure: yes, I was beaten by a school girl. No, I don’t want to talk about it. Well done to for getting after it! Thanks to and Sandridge Life Saving Club for putting on a great race. Thanks also to the sponsors

One of the biggest mistakes people make when it comes to conditioning is treating it as nothing more than a test of how much fatigue they can endure.

If it was really that easy, you'd never see combat athletes gas out, and yet we see it happen all the time.

Fatigue is a byproduct of conditioning that will happen as part of training, but it's not the goal and it's definitely not a measuring stick for how effective your workout was.

In order to improve your conditioning over the long run, it takes consistent effort combined with the right training methods, strategies, and recovery.

You might make quick gains in the short run if all you do is try to kill yourself each workout, but you'll pay the price in terms of consistency and long-term gains.

So instead of considering your workout a success if you're exhausted at the end, instead ask yourself one important question, "Can I sustain this day in, day out, for as long as it takes?"
