Today we are celebrating Girls In ICT Day, presented by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). 👩🏻‍💻

This important day aims to encourage girls and women to pursue STEM education, work in STEM careers and engage their community by promoting collaboration through partnerships.

The theme for 2022 is ‘Access and Safety’. Here’s an excerpt from the ITU website:

“This year’s theme was selected due to the discouraging and dangerous obstacles girls can sometimes face in the digital environment. In consultation with girls and young women, we identified challenges to highlight that they may face as they begin their journey in the digital environment, and possible solutions to these challenges. This year and every year, ITU and its partners will work together on developing solutions and ideas for lowering barriers and improving safety online.”
