Reconciliation Week
Today, as part of Reconciliation Week, children explore a special sensory play experience and learn about the environment, native animals, and Indigenous culture. We began by gathering a variety of natural materials, such as leaves, logs, dirt, twigs, and stones, to create a sensory bin that resembled a mini outdoor habitat.

🐞🦟🐝🪱🐜🦗🪰🐛🪲🕷️🦋🐌🪳🦂Children love to play ,explore and catch some bugs from garden. Today, they explored a collection of toy insects and placed them on the table, along with some magnifying glasses, bug catchers, and books about insects.
They were fascinated by the details they could see, such as the tiny hairs on the legs and the intricate web on the body. As the children continued to explore, they started to ask questions about the insects. They wanted to know what they ate, where they lived, and how they moved.
Children play with the insects also sparked their imaginations. Some pretended to be explorers searching for new bugs to add to their collection, while others pretended to be the insects themselves, crawling around on the table and making buzzing noises.

They made a such beautiful layout in a tray . Then, they caught some insects to put in the tray. Children sat around the picnic table and watch what the insects doing inside .

- things in this tray that you can stick to magnet
- why do you think it is or it isn’t ?
One object children found was very tricky was the scissors, because it had a magnetic part on , but were not completely magnetic.
Fun facts we learnt :
- Magnets can pull together magnetic objects and push them away
-Magnets will attract some metals but not all metals

What a windy and cloudy day ! It’s fun to play light reflections in a dark room.
Children experienced sense of seeing through this activity. Torch light play allows children to explore science concepts like reflection and cause and effect .

-how does light and projection change the appearance and size of objects?

Children loved this classic baking soda and vinegar experiment. They all got very excited when they see bubbling eruptions that result when baking soda and vinegar are combined.
In addition to being fun and entertaining, this activity is educational too. We discussed colours , colour mixing and chemical reactions.

This week children explored build snowflakes on light table. By using this light table, it improves children’s learning experience as the learn through visual images.
The captivating glow made children spend longer amount of time engaged with this activity. This also a fantastic opportunity to stretch their developing attention spans .
