Thank you Sarah and Alex for sharing the beautiful birth story of your daughter, Sienna Rose.

Sarah and Alex are close friends of ours and I was honoured to be guiding them through preparing for their first baby.

Sarah was determined to do things on her own terms- and she absolutely rocked her birth!

I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did 🤍

Mucous plug, show, bloody show… all of these describe the protective mucous that sits inside your cervix to keep your baby safe until they are ready to be born.

The mucous plug or “show” is usually a sticky, brown mucous that can often be mixed with blood.

Some women will start to lose this in the finals weeks of pregnancy, while others may not.

When women notice their mucous plug coming away in pregnancy, they will often find it in their underwear or on wiping after using the bathroom.

While many think that losing their mucous plus in late pregnancy is a sign labour is close, this isn’t always the case.
Most women will actually lose their mucous plug or ‘show’ during labour as the cervix starts to soften and open- releasing slowly as the baby starts to descend down the birth path.

Did you use your mucous plug during pregnancy?

Sweet little Taj 🦁

This little boy’s birth was a triumph for 3rd time Mum Bridie who achieved a VBACx2 (Vaginal birth after 2 caesareans).

Bridie & Daniel sought a different model of care and completed a private Hypnobirthing class with me to prepare for Taj’s birth.

I am so incredibly happy for this new family of 5!

Little Miss Freya 🌸

Preparing for birth as first time parents can be really daunting. But expanding your knowledge and learning your options can make such a HUGE difference in your birth journey. That is exactly what Freya’s parents did to prepare for her arrival by completing the Positive Birth Program with me.

Read what first time Mum- Steph had to say about her birth…

“I am so proud, of both myself & lachlan. He advocated for me as well, so much, making sure I was okay & talking through everything with me. It was honestly such a powerful experience to go through!”.

Congratulations to this beautiful family of 3- I absolutely loved the time we spent together. Wishing you all the very best ✨

Strap in for one EPIC story!

Desiree attended my first ever group Hypnobirthing class and I was so excited for her to have a different experience with her second baby.

She had experienced not only a traumatic birth with her first pregnancy, but one that resulted in a true emergency caesarean at 32 weeks.

I could tell as soon as I met her that she was determined, strong and going to do amazing things.

Here is part 1….

Baby’s first poo💩

📷

Meconium is the name of your baby’s first poo. It is a dark greenish, sticky, tar-like consistency that lines your baby’s bowel as they grow. Surprisingly it does not smell like normal baby poo- actually it barely has any smell at all!

Most baby’s will start to excrete this within the first 24 hours of age, however some will start to pass it while still inside the womb. If a woman’s membranes release (waters break) and are a yellow or green colour- this indicates the baby has passed some meconium and we call this ‘meconium stained liquor’.

Babies tend to pass meconium for around 48 hours until it starts to transition to a browny yellowish colour as Mum’s milk starts to “come in” or they take larger formula quantities.

My tip for getting meconium off your newborn’s skin is using cotton balls soaked in warm water- the fresher the poo, the easier to clean 😝

Welcome to the world Rhodes 🩵

This beautiful boy arrived into his parents loving arms at 38+5 weeks.

As first time parents, Hannah & Krisztian they really wanted to go into birth with the knowledge about birth in the system, their rights and tools to help during labour. Here are some words from Hannah about her birth

“It didn’t end up being as “hypnobirth-like” as we would have liked but I feel so good about my decisions and I wouldn’t change his birth. I feel like we had a very positive birthing experience - we definitely achieved that through your guidance.
Thank you 🥰”

Getting messages like this make my heart sing 🥰

Full birth story to come 🤍
