The reason your change isnât sticking probably has nothing to do with how hard youâre trying.
Most of the patterns we most want to change â over-functioning, struggling to rest, always pushing through, waiting for proof weâre finally enough â are running as survival strategies.
Your nervous system installed them because at some point, they kept you safe.
And the nervous systemâs job is to protect what keeps you safe.
You cannot willpower your way out of that. The system will fight for the pattern because it believes the pattern is necessary for your survival.
What you can do is build safety at the level where the pattern actually lives. Not in your mind. In your body.
Thatâs the work of Align â Step 3 in the REAL Framework. And itâs what most personal development spaces skip entirely.

Thereâs always a moment where your body does something unexpected.
I tried these nose strips last week to try to help with allergies.
Slept terribly.
But seemed to wake up energised anyway, which was pretty cool.
Went to EMBODY that night and as I was telling the girls about them and that, âI actually feel stronger than usual todayâŚâ
âŚI literally snapped a resistance band in half. đ
Couldnât have scripted it better. đ
Sometimes your body knows before your mind catches up.

The question most people ask themselves when they want to change isnât actually helping them.
âWhatâs wrong with me?â feels like honest looking. Like taking responsibility.
But it has an assumption baked in â that YOU are the problem.
The question that actually changes things is this:
đwhat shaped me?
And underneath that:
đ who am I underneath the shaping?
This is the Explore phase. The step where you stop pathologising your patterns and start understanding them. Where curiosity isnât a softer version of self-criticism â itâs genuinely more effective.
Because you canât see around conditioning you believe is just âwho you are.â
The science is clear on this. Approximately 95% of your mental activity runs on subconscious programming â absorbed mostly before the age of seven. Before you could evaluate what you were being taught.
The version of you who over-functions, over-delivers, struggles to rest, and keeps waiting for proof sheâs enough?
She wasnât born that way.
She learned to be that way.
And what was learned can be unlearned. Not by forcing yourself to act differently â but by understanding where it came from and building a new experience from the inside out.

This is not self-help.
It is not leadership coaching in the conventional sense.

A person can understand everything intellectually and still be unable to change â because their body does not feel safe enough to do so.
This is not a small thing.
It is the thing that sits between insight and a life that actually feels different.
Most approaches to personal growth skip this step entirely.
Mine doesnât.
