You know Dr. Z. But do you know Amo? Swipe →

It started with football, long hair, a Scottish coach and Lorenzo Amoruso. ⚽
And somehow “Amo” stuck for life.

18 years old. Italian Army. Folgore. 🪂
A very different chapter of my life — and one I’ve never forgotten.

Napoli 4–0 up at halftime.
Apparently, that was romantic enough for me. 😂💍

ONE LAST SESSION.

With the season coming to an end, it’s time to say thank you.

First, a massive thank you to Keilor Park SC, Liam and the entire coaching staff for trusting me with the S&C program, giving me the freedom to do things my way, and making me feel welcome from day one.

But most importantly, thank you to the girls.

Thank you for trusting the process and putting up with my crazy ideas, my running regime, the conditioning, and everything else I threw at you.

You worked hard, challenged yourselves, complained occasionally — as you should 😂 — but you kept showing up and putting in the work.

It has been an absolute pleasure coaching this group.

Football has a funny way of bringing people back together, so hopefully our paths cross again somewhere along the way.

But for now, that’s a wrap.

Thank you for the trust, the hard work and the memories.

All the best, girls. See you around the football pitch.

Now that you’re here… you obviously want to know the truth.

A lot of men hit their 40s — sometimes even their 30s — and start noticing their performance isn’t quite what it used to be.

You know what I’m talking about…

The “5-minute problem.” 👀

So before you start thinking about the blue pill, the other-colour pill, or some magic shortcut…

TRAIN THE BODY.

Get fitter.
Get stronger.
Build your stamina.
Drop excess body fat.
Improve your cardiovascular fitness.
Sleep better.
Stress less.

Because your s*x life doesn’t belong to a different body.

The body you train is the body you take to bed.

MENS SANA IN CORPORE SANO.
VIGOR SEXUALIS.

HEALTHY MIND.
HEALTHY BODY.
HEALTHY SEXUAL PERFORMANCE.

Last night, I received some very sad news.

Whenever I hear news like this, it forces me to stop, reflect, and reset my perspective.

It’s a reminder that life is fragile.

But today’s post isn’t about me.

It’s not about fitness.

And it’s not about loss.

It’s about every person who refuses to give up.

Every person who continues to fight, even when life becomes incredibly difficult.

Because fighting until the very end isn’t losing.

It’s courage.

So today, I want to dedicate this post to everyone who kept showing up.

To everyone who kept fighting.

And to everyone who faced their hardest days with strength, dignity, and hope.

You may no longer be with us, but your courage continues to inspire those who remain.

To all those who fought until the very end, may you rest in peace. ❤️

This weekend, Spartan gave me a reminder I probably needed.

I struggled with obstacles I used to master.

Monkey bars. Multi-rig. Rope climbs.

Not because I stopped training.
Not because I suddenly became weak.

Because I stopped training them.

I haven’t had regular access to the equipment, so those movements slowly disappeared from my training.

And eventually, the bill arrived.

That’s the thing about fitness.

Your body doesn’t care what you used to be able to do.

Strength, endurance, mobility, skill — they all need a reason to stay.

We sometimes think that once we’ve built something, we’ve earned the right to keep it.

We haven’t.

What you build requires maintenance.

And that’s not just fitness.

Skills. Habits. Confidence. Relationships.

Stop working on them long enough, and eventually you’ll notice what’s missing.

Spartan reminded me of mine.

Now I know exactly what needs to go back into my training.

You don’t keep what you achieved.
You keep what you continue to practice.

Stop relying on motivation.

One of my favourite stories isn’t about strength.

It’s about preparation.

When Odysseus sailed past the Sirens, he knew he would be tempted.

He didn’t tell himself…

“I’ll be strong enough when the time comes.”

He knew better.

So before the temptation arrived, he tied himself to the mast and told his crew not to untie him, no matter what he said.

That’s discipline.

Not trusting willpower.

Building a system that protects you when your motivation disappears.

The same applies to fitness.

Don’t rely on waking up motivated.

Book the session.

Lay your gym clothes out the night before.

Train with a friend.

Create routines that make quitting harder than continuing.

Motivation comes and goes.

Systems stay.

Build your life so your future self has fewer chances to fail.

What system have you built that keeps you accountable?

One thing I’ve noticed this week after reviewing dozens of body scans…

The people who kept showing up kept improving.

The people who stopped training consistently didn’t necessarily go backwards…

But they stopped moving forward.

Life happens.

Winter arrives.
Work gets busy.
Family needs your attention.
Motivation comes and goes.

You won’t always be able to train at your best.

And that’s okay.

This week I told several of my clients:

When you’re in the middle of a storm, your goal isn’t to sail faster or find the perfect direction.

Your goal is simply to stay afloat.

Maybe that means one PT session instead of three.

Maybe it means two gym sessions instead of five.

Maybe it means making one better food choice today.

Your minimum standard is there for moments like these.

Don’t disappear because life got hard.

Stay afloat.

The storm won’t last forever.

And when the skies clear…

You’ll still be there, ready to move forward again.

Don’t measure progress by how fast you move during the storm. Measure it by whether you refused to sink.

One thing I’ve learnt over the years is this…

The moment you decide to improve your life, something around you starts to change.

Not just you.

The people around you.

Some will grow with you.
Some will encourage you.
Some will quietly disappear.

That doesn’t always mean anyone is right or wrong.

It simply means change has a way of revealing what was already there.

That’s why I told someone this week:

“When the earthquake comes, the tree shakes… and the dead leaves fall.”

Not everything that falls was meant to stay.

Don’t measure change by what you’ve lost. Measure it by who you’re becoming.
