This morning SCA (a great sponsor of SCBWN) put on an informative breakfast “Cyber Security Wake-up call”. Some quick take aways to share:

5 myths
1. It’s the IT departments problem. Everyone is responsible.
2. Cyber-attacks only go for big business. Newsflash: small business are the biggest targets. This could be, we are the gateway to big business and most often less secure.
3. Don’t need to update our equipment. 4.2million Malware was developed in the last 14 days!
4. A password is all I need.
5. I use a MAC and iPhone, so I am safe. Sadly, not anymore!

Biggest breaches:
* Payment redirection. If someone asks you to change bank details, call them before doing this.
* Remote access. I’m from XVZ and we have noticed your computer is not performing, let us help you.
* Promised romance
* Promised investment wins
* Phishing emails

Working in Excel yesterday, it seemed the mouse got it's own mind when tried to use the wheel on the mouse. The spreadsheet thought I was zooming in and out!!

And today I found the sneaky little option in Setting that somehow got turned on by mistake!

File > Options > Advanced > (Editing options) Zoom on roll with IntelliMouse - it needs NO tick in it!
