Where are they now? ✨🎓
Jessica, an ICMS alumna, graduated with a Bachelor of Event Management after applying through UAC. She is currently a Customer Success Manager at Ashton Media, an event management and production company specialising in conferences.
Professional Placement 🏢
Jessica completed her industry training at Manly Pacific Hotel Sydney, working within the conference and events team. She continued working there after graduation, where she learnt the fundamentals of event management. The connections she made opened doors and created opportunities that helped her secure her next role.
What stood out most about ICMS? 🫶
The friendships she made was one of the highlights of her time at ICMS. In fact, she still speaks to many of them today. Another core memory was seeing The Great Gatsby being filmed on campus. Getting a behind-the-scenes look at the movie props and set design was a truly special experience.
Life After Graduation ⏭️
After her time at Manly Pacific, Jessica transitioned into conference and events sales with EVT Group. She then moved client-side into event sponsorship sales, where she worked her way up to Commercial Director, managing sponsorship portfolios across ANZ. Now, as a Customer Success Manager at Ashton Media, she helps partners maximise the value of their event partnerships and achieve meaningful returns on their investment. Her day-to-day involves working closely with partners and sponsors, managing deliverables, and coordinating with internal marketing and operations teams.
Advice 💬
“Start building your network early and do it genuinely. It’s not about who you know, it’s about who knows you. Don’t think of networking as asking for a job, think of it as building relationships and learning from people who are already doing what you want to do. Say yes to coffees, industry events, internships and conversations, even when you feel underqualified or nervous. The connections I made early in my career opened doors I didn’t even know existed at the time, often months or years later. People remember curiosity, enthusiasm and follow-through far more than a perfect CV.”

I repeat: ONE OF OUR ALUMNI IS CURRENTLY COMPETING ON MASTERCHEF 👨🍳
Meet Jack Hosking, ICMS Bachelor of Business graduate, marketing entrepreneur, and now MasterChef Australia contestant 😎
After graduating in 2018, Jack launched his own marketing company, but his love for cooking started much earlier, recreating MasterChef recipes with his Nan when he was just 12 years old. Fast forward to today and he’s competing in one of Australia’s biggest cooking competitions, turning a lifelong passion into reality ⏲️
Jack credits ICMS with giving him the confidence to take risks, think strategically and build something of his own, saying: “I genuinely think it’s one of the best degrees you can choose because business skills are transferable to almost any industry.” 📚
His advice for current students? “Take a risk, especially while you’re young. If you back yourself, step outside your comfort zone and have a go, you might surprise yourself with what you’re capable of achieving.” 🌎
From ICMS to the MasterChef kitchen, we’re cheering you on every step of the way ✨
