📚🐉 Our reading adventures continue at the Balingup Medieval Festival!

Dressed as an elf—complete with pointed ears—one student chose the perfect book, Wings of Fire, and even found a magnificent dragon to read beside! Meanwhile, our young swordsman settled in with The Sword in the Stone, with his own sword ready by his side.

What wonderfully imaginative entries for our Reading in Unusual Places Competition—these books truly look at home in a medieval world! ⚔️🧝‍♀️📖✨

One student has found the perfect spot for a spooky Goosebumps story beneath a tunnel of towering trees, while another is enjoying his book beside the water—with a pelican nearby for company!

From forest paths to peaceful waterways, these photos show that a great book can be enjoyed almost anywhere. What wonderful entries for our Reading in Unusual Places Competition! 📖🦢✨

Mrs Day, one of our wonderful Year 5/6 teachers has taken multitasking to a whole new level, completing parkrun while enjoying a book for our Reading in Unusual Places Competition!

Combining a love of reading with a love of running—now that’s one way to race through a good book! 📖🏅✨

📚🚤 Our new competition entries are sailing in!

These two boys have found the perfect peaceful place to enjoy their books—aboard a boat on a dam! Surrounded by water and fresh air, it certainly makes for a wonderfully unusual reading spot.

What a fantastic reading adventure! Keep an eye on our page as we share more of the creative entries we’ve received. 📖✨

📚🌉 A book really can take you anywhere!

Soley absolutely loved reading The Bridges: A Book Can Take You Anywhere, so she brought the story to life by visiting a suspension bridge—and even painted the book’s title on her T-shirt for the occasion!

What a wonderfully creative way to celebrate a favourite book. Thank you, Soley, for sharing your reading adventure with us! 📖✨

🖤🕸️ They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky… 🕸️🖤

Our Yr 3 students brought The Adams Family to life with a fantastic themed assembly item! 🎶🫰

There was plenty of entertainment, with students telling jokes, singing and dancing, and there was even a fantastic guitar performance by Mr Trainer! 🎸👏

Congratulations to all of our performers and staff who helped make it such a fun and memorable assembly! 🖤👏

📚🥩 Now this is an unusual place to read!

One of our students has taken story time to his dad’s pet mince business, settling in with a good book on top of a ginormous meat mincer! It’s certainly not your everyday reading spot—and it might just be one of our biggest yet!

We love seeing the wonderfully creative places our students are discovering for our Reading in Unusual Places Competition. Keep those fantastic entries coming! 📖✨

A good book is never rubbish! ♻️📚

With his head popping out from beneath the lid and a book in hand, this young reader has transformed a recycling bin into one of our most unusual reading nooks yet!

Perhaps he is searching for a story worth rescuing, or simply proving that a love of reading can pop up anywhere. What a wonderfully imaginative entry for our Reading in Unusual Places competition!
