Year 6 Excursion Season Has Begun!

On Friday, our Year 6 students kicked off the first of three exciting graduation excursions for 2026!

Students enjoyed Minute to Win It games, a delicious lunch and then off to Timezone for an afternoon on the arcades.

Special thanks to Mrs B, Mr Damien, Miss V, Mrs Cavanagh and Mrs Fealy for attending and helping make the day a memorable one for our Year 6’s.

Today we proudly celebrate the incredible Australian-inspired artworks created by our primary school students during their Cultural Arts lessons.

Through their artwork, students explored Australian landscapes, Indigenous-inspired patterns, native animals, and the iconic colours of our country, while developing a deeper appreciation for the rich culture and creativity that make Australia so unique.

Their imagination, effort, and artistic talent truly shone through in every piece, and we are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and creativity our young artists brought to their learning.

🟢️ Every Day at School Counts!

🔴 Did you know that missing just a day here and there can add up to years of missed learning over a child's school life?

🔵 While occasional absences are unavoidable, regular attendance plays a huge role in a child's academic success, friendships, confidence and sense of belonging at school.

Today we hosted Frederick Irwin Anglican School for an interschool scratch match ahead of our lightning carnival in Week 9.

Thank you to Mr Hughes and all staff from both DPPS and FIAS for working together to organise such a fantastic afternoon.

What an incredible performance by Room 16 & 17 at today’s assembly.

The students confidently recited “Said Hanrahan” by John O’Brien — a lengthy and complex poem filled with rich language, rhythm and expression. Memorising and performing a piece like this is no easy task.

A huge congratulations to all students involved in today’s performance. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves.

Thank you also to the staff who worked so hard to bring the item together, and to the families & friends who came out to support the students 🌟

Today we celebrate and wish our amazing P&C a very happy P&C Day 🎉

Our P&C is supported by many parents and carers who generously give up their own time to create fun events for school and fundraise to purchase resources and equipment for our lucky students. They do this on a completely voluntary basis, wanting only the best for our school community.

As a school we want to recognise all that they do and send the biggest thank you for having a helping hand in making DPPS the best it can be!!!!
