Yesterday was the International Day of Play 🎈
We love that learning can happen everywhere, inside and outside. In the best way, curiosity and creativity come together with a little bit of mess!
From big ideas to brave risks and wonderful mistakes, play is where the magic happens.
“The child has a hundred languages, a hundred hands, a hundred thoughts, a hundred ways of thinking, of playing, of speaking.” – Loris Malaguzzi (Reggio Emilia)

Our Year 3 girls shone at the Peel Rotary Public Speaking Competition! 🎤💙
Speaking on the topic “What Inspires Me,” Isla, Araline and Pippa shared their passions with confidence, courage and heart! From fashion, to cheerleading, to Muay Thai. Our girls represented St Marcellin beautifully through their sportsmanship, their talent, their kindness and their support for one another. It’s really hard to get up and talk in front of lots of people and we couldn’t be prouder! ✨👏 Thanks to Mrs Wake for her organisation and preparation and Mrs Morton for her help and support.

June 6 — Champagnat Day 💙
Today we celebrate St Marcellin Champagnat and his mission of making Jesus known and loved.
Our celebrations happened on Thursday last week with a beautiful Mass led by Father Jijo, followed by a Marcellin Connect sausage sizzle, a fun-filled fair, and our much-loved College dance-off!
A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff and incredible parent helpers, events like this are only possible because of you. And to our families, thank you for the many ways you bring our Marist family spirit to life.
What a joyful celebration of who we are ✨

Today is Trinity Sunday
In our Catholic tradition, today reflects on the idea of God as relationship, often described as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
At its heart, this reminds us that love, connection, and community matter.
Just as these are united, we too are called to:
🩵 care for one another
🫶 build strong relationships
“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” 2 Corinthians 13:14
Whether through faith, family, or friendship, today is a beautiful reminder that we are made for connection and love.
🩵✝️⛪️
Digging for worms might look messy, but this is learning at its best. 🌱🪱 Through play, our children develop curiosity, problem-solving skills, language, resilience and a deep connection to the natural world. Messy, hands-on experiences support brain development, encourage collaboration and build confidence as children test ideas and make discoveries for themselves.
We choose to embrace play that is untidy, messy, joyful and meaningful. 🩵

📚✨ Today our college came together for National Simultaneous Storytime with Luna Roo! Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd is an inspiring underdog story about a young kangaroo who overcomes her nerves and self-doubt to lead her soccer team, FC Outback, to victory. ⚽🦘
To bring the story to life, students even played soccer at recess with a special FIFA ball—sharing in Luna Roo’s love of the game!
We know that literacy opens doors and sparks imagination and so it was so great to see all of our little faces listening and enjoying so intently.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Harper for bringing this special experience to life for our students 💛
Today we reflect on National Sorry Day, a time for our nation to acknowledge past wrongs and listen with humility. To mark Sorry Day, our students created some artwork that now welcomes our community at the entrance to the College, serving as a sign of respect and remembrance. We’d love you to have a read as you walk past.
Our College is committed to reconciliation in all its forms.
Loving God,
on this Sorry Day we remember the hurt of the past. Mary, our Good Mother, guide us to listen, to care, and to walk together with respect. Like Marcellin, help us bring compassion and hope to all. May we be people of healing and reconciliation.
Amen.
We were delighted to take part in the 5-a-side inter-school Soccer Carnival held at Peelwood Parade this week! ⚽️
Our students embraced the experience with enthusiasm, demonstrating great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day.
It was wonderful to see them support one another and represent St Marcellin Catholic College with pride and confidence.
We are incredibly proud of the way they carried themselves both on and off the field. Opportunities like this play an important role in building resilience, connection and a love of sport.
Congratulations to all involved, and thank you to all of the staff and parents who supported our students on the day!
