Today is R U OK Day, a perfect time to teach our little ones about the importance of checking in with each other and sharing how we feel.
By modelling kindness and empathy, we help our children tune in to the feelings of others, when we all do this, things get a lot easier! Ask R U OK to someone you love today.

At St Marcellin Catholic College we are thrilled to have appointed six exceptional EAs to join our community in 2025! We are incredibly appreciative that they have chosen our College and we can’t wait to introduce you to each of them individually in the coming months.

Even though our little people haven’t joined us in person yet, we didn’t want to miss out on celebrating the joy that is Book Week!
We had great fun as a staff dressing up and welcomed dress up images from some of our soon to be Kindergarten students.

As a College in the Marist tradition, the Feast of the Assumption holds special significance.
Today is a celebration of Mary’s journey to heaven at the end of her life.
Mary was a devoted mother. She embodies compassion, gentleness, humility and a deep sense of spiritual commitment.
Our gentle hearts are inspired by Mary. 🩵

The theme for NAIDOC Week this year is 'Keep the Fire Burning'.
The National NAIDOC Committee selected this theme to celebrate the relentless spirit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
The theme further celebrates the enduring strength of our First Nations culture. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians all over the country.

As a Catholic community in the Marist Tradition, we have chosen Strong Minds and Gentle Hearts as both our College Motto and our Vision.
These four powerful words show up consistently in the life and works of St Marcellin Champagnat.
“He was a man of impressive character – in determination, he was as solid as a rock; in compassion, he was as sweet as the flowers of the valley”.
Strong minded people are resilient and adapt to challenges. They are optimistic, hope filled and show gratitude. As people of Strong Mind, we are curious seekers of knowledge and lifelong learners.
With Gentle Hearts, we embrace our world with compassion and grace. We prioritise relationships and connectedness. We exercise humility, use our words with care and show warmth and consideration towards others.
It’s an incredible gift to have this as our Motto and Vision and we can’t wait to bring it to life at St Marcellin Catholic College.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, at St Marcellin Catholic College, we value play as a means to promote exploration, creativity, and collaboration. Through play children develop social and emotional skills and self regulation, as well as honing their sensory and cognitive abilities.
Our classrooms will bring the outside in, with the use of natural elements and materials that spark curiosity.
Our approach is about community, it's about partnership, it's about the environment and it's about honouring the many ways our children explore their worlds and express themselves.

Learn about our Logo
Our modern and contemporary Logo is designed to reflect the Marist value of simplicity. The Marist colours are blue, gold, and burgundy and we’ve drawn on some stunning shades of blue and gold for this design. The colours reflect both compassion and vibrancy.
The outline of a shield represents our faith and 200 years of incredible Marist Tradition. We love that the shield is a modern, soft outline, thus reflecting our budding community emerging in the year 2024.
The Cross in the middle of the shield presents our strong link to the story of Christ and to our faith.
The soft 'm' beneath the cross, which can also be seen as a heart, speaks to Mary, the mother of Jesus and a key figure in the Marist story. It reminds us of St Marcellin whose story was, and is always, about love. Finally, it speaks to the region in which we are located “Mandjoogoordap – which translates to ‘meeting place of the heart’.
We can’t wait to see all the many places our logo reveals itself!

Meet Our Principal
Ms O’Donohue is an experienced educational leader having worked in a variety of positions both overseas and in rural and urban Western Australia. She has a deep commitment to the Catholic story and to the education of young people. Ms O’Donohue spent the last five years as the Vice Principal at Kolbe Catholic College in Rockingham. Prior to that, she led as a Deputy Principal at Holy Cross College in Ellenbrook, also a K-12 Foundation community.
Ms O’Donohue is excited about leading the creation, establishment, and growth of a wonderful story at St Marcellin Catholic College – a Catholic College in the Marist tradition.
“It is such a great privilege to be a part of a foundation college. I really believe it is a work of the heart. My joy grows day by day as I see our community start to come to life in so many different ways. I am excited to create a lively place of learning where our young people will be given opportunities to pursue their passions and to flourish.”

First Light
Today we celebrate with Marists from across the globe, the Feast of Saint Marcellin Champagnat. Twenty-five years ago, in 1999, Marcellin was made a Saint of the Catholic Church for his dedication, leadership and inspiration to generations.
This image of ‘first light’ represents Saint Marcellin’s belief that God’s Spirit was always present, inspiring his mission and giving strength to his purpose.
As we build our budding community at St Marcellin Catholic College it is our vision to develop young people, like St Marcellin himself, people of hope, demonstrating through their actions, compassion and humility.

On May 7, the land which will become St Marcellin Catholic College, was blessed. It was a great privilege to welcome our first family, the Elwan's, the Executive Director of Catholic Education WA, Mr Wayne Bull, Our Lady’s Assumption Associate Priest, Father Albin Odippattil and Father Pierre Repuyan, Delegate to the Apostolic Administrator in Bunbury, alongside many other incredible people who continue to play such an important part in our journey.
The following week, work began. Stay tuned to see images of our broken ground.
