♥️Happy Mothers Day♥️

Today we held a beautiful Mother’s Day brunch at the centre creating special moments for mums and children to relax, connect and enjoy quality time together.

Families shared a lovely morning filled with meaningful conversations, delicious treats and calming activities designed to celebrate all the wonderful mums and special people in our children’s lives.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so warm and memorable.

With love and care, Choyces ELC team

Today in our program, we embraced the beauty of cultural diversity by celebrating Balinese culture 🌺

Through music, food, and shared experiences, the children were given the opportunity to explore a culture different from their own. These moments are so much more than just fun activities...they help build respect, curiosity, and understanding of the world around us.

Incorporating cultural diversity into our daily program supports children to develop a strong sense of identity while also appreciating and valuing the uniqueness of others. It fosters inclusion, empathy, and a deeper connection to our global community.

We loved seeing the children engage with Balinese music and enjoy new flavours 💛

👋 A little update for our families…

You may have noticed we’ve quietly stepped away from using Storypark recently. Don’t worry, nothing has gone missing, and we promise we’re still very much across your child’s day!
We’ve made the move to spend less time on screens and more time where it matters most - with the children. This means more meaningful interactions, more play, more connection, and more time supporting learning in the moment rather than behind a device.

📌 So where can you find information about your child’s day?

You’ll still be kept well in the loop through:
Daily verbal handovers with educators
Daily room displays
Important updates shared directly with families
And of course, our educators are always happy to chat!
Thank you for supporting us as we focus on what we do best: nurturing, teaching, and caring for your little people every single day 🌱
As always, if you have any questions, come and see us.

Wow! Our educators have certainly been busy making the most of their time during renovations!

Every single educator is now up to date with First Aid and CPR, has completed Safe Food Handling, Red Nose Safe Sleep, First Nations Cultural Awareness, Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting, along with a range of professional learning through Geccko, Emerging Minds, and Be You.

Safe to say, our educators are returning with refreshed skills, full hearts…and very full brains 🧠✨ all ready to give your children the very best care and learning experiences.

🌿 Room Name Updates 🌿

We’re excited to share a small but meaningful update to our room names, reflecting our connection to culture and nature.

🐦 Nursery Room
Our Nursery room is now called Djidi (pronounced gi-dee), the Noongar word for W***y Wagtail, a bird often associated with watchfulness and connection, representing our youngest learners as they begin their journey.

🦋 Pre-Kindy Room
Our Pre-Kindy room will now be known as Bindi Bindi - a Noongar word meaning butterfly, symbolising growth, change and learning as children continue to flourish.

We look forward to continuing to celebrate learning, culture and community with your children. If you have any questions, please feel free to chat with our team 😊

Today marks a very special moment at Choyces as we celebrated our first two Kindy graduates of 2025! Over the next couple of days, we’ll be cheering on the rest of our amazing Kindy children as they each enjoy their final day with us before heading off to big school.

To our graduates today:
We are so incredibly proud of you 🥹 Watching your confidence, friendships, and personalities grow has been such a joy. Big school is going to absolutely love you!

To our families:
Thank you for all your support, trust, and the beautiful journey we’ve shared. We feel so lucky to have been part of these special early years.

Big shoutout to the real hero of our centre…our incredible cook Vikki (aka Nonna)👩‍🍳✨

Every day she works her magic in the kitchen, filling little tummies with meals that are not only delicious, but healthy, colourful and made with so much love. From her famous hidden-veggie masterpieces to the lunches the children ask for seconds (and thirds!) of - she keeps our whole centre smiling, fuelled and happy. She even makes every child a Birthday cake on their Birthday 🥹

If you’ve ever wondered why the children run to the dining area like it’s a five-star restaurant…now you know! 😄

Thank you for everything you do Vikki! Your food brings comfort, joy and full bellies to our days, and we’re so grateful for you!
