Today we celebrated our amazing team with a delicious Italian lunch, followed by an hour at Prison Island Perth!
It was SO much fun - challenging, physical, mental, competitive and definitely had us laughing! 😂
A big thank you to our incredible educators for everything you do for our children and families every day. We appreciate you more than you know!

Turning data into action for Mandurah’s youngest children!

Today, the Mandurah Early Years Action Group (MEYAG) brought together a range of local community organisations to explore what the latest Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) data is telling us about children across the Mandurah/Peel region.

We were thrilled to have the Australian Child & Youth Wellbeing Atlas team from The University of Western Australia (UWA) join us to share the Atlas and guide us through the local data, emerging trends and what the findings might mean for our community.

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for local organisations to come together, build a shared understanding of the data and start thinking about where we can make the greatest difference for children and families.

This is just the beginning. The insights from today will help inform the development of MEYAG’s three-year action plan, with a focus on collaborative, evidence-informed action to improve outcomes for children in our community.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed their knowledge, experience and ideas. Together, we can turn data into meaningful action for Mandurah’s children and families.

A very warm welcome to Lauren & Nyota!

We’re so excited to welcome Lauren and Nyota to the Choyces Early Learning Centre family! 🧡

Both Lauren and Nyota have joined our team full-time, and we’re incredibly lucky to have them on board. They both hold a Diploma in Children’s Services and bring with them years of knowledge, experience and, most importantly, a genuine passion for Early Childhood Education.

We know that their experience, dedication and love for working with children will be a wonderful addition to our team and our learning community.

NAIDOC Week at Choyces ❤️💛🖤
Today we enjoyed lemon myrtle chicken skewers, Wattleseed cookies, cinnamon scrolls and fresh oranges while taking time to acknowledge and celebrate the rich cultures, histories and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Food has a wonderful way of bringing people together, and sharing native ingredients with our children is just one small way we can spark curiosity, connection and respect for Country and culture.
Thank you Nonna, for always filling our centre with love, warmth and delicious creations.

One of our mums mentioned that the school was having a pyjama day, and we didn't want little sister to feel left out while she was at daycare...so we had our own pyjama day too! 💕🧸

Safe to say everyone loved the extra cuddles, comfy clothes and cosy fun... so much that we'll be having another pyjama day soon! Stay tuned.

Recently, our Centre Director, Rachel, had the pleasure of visiting Cheryl at Mandurah Community Gardens. Cheryl generously shared her knowledge about sustainable gardening, including how wicking beds work, and gave Rachel a wonderful tour of the gardens.

We were also incredibly grateful to receive a generous donation of pots, lemongrass, parsley, sweet potato cuttings, and goldenberry (cape gooseberry) plants to help grow our children's garden.

A heartfelt thank you to Cheryl and everyone at Mandurah Community Gardens for your kindness, generosity, and for helping us nurture a love of gardening in our little learners.
