🌼Happy Onam! 🌼
Onam is a vibrant 10-day harvest festival celebrated in Kerala, India. It is a time for families and communities to come together, share food and celebrate their culture and heritage.
Colourful flower carpets called Pookkalam decorate homes.
Families enjoy a special vegetarian feast called Onasadya, served on banana leaves.
Traditional boat races, dances, music and community celebrations are also part of the festival.

ATTENTION YEAR 6 PARENTS AND CARERS!

Please join the Year 6 Teachers for an 'ALL THINGS CANBERRA' information session in the Library on Wednesday 2 September 2026 from 3:30pm to 4:00pm.

Topics will include phones, medication, clothing, expectations and Ms Beddie will answer any questions you have as well.

ICAS ASSESSMENT- MATHEMATICS

Assessments begin promptly at 8:00am in the 5/6L classroom.

All students who sit the ICAS assessments will receive FREE breakfast from our school Breakfast Club.

The NSW Government’s Washing Machine Exchange Program is subsidising eligible low-income households to upgrade their inefficient top-loading washing machine to a water and energy efficient front-loading model – saving water and easing the cost of living.
This NSW Government initiative targets water savings at the household level, a priority of the NSW Water Strategy. By upgrading, your household can expect to save about $300 (incl. GST) per year on water, energy and detergent costs with water savings anticipated to be around 20 kilolitres of water per year.

Absolute Beginners Class: 6PM - 7PM

There's no upfront fees or registrations!! Pay on the night as you turn up 😁

Line Dancing coming to Rutherford Public School !

Staff from MJS Line Dancing will visit our school today at 10:30am to show students some basic line dancing steps and to give out information on how they can join line dancing classes in our school hall on a Wednesday afternoon (after school). Depending on response and demand, the line dancing club will cater for students and adults interested in learning the steps, enjoy some exercise and meet new people.
Parents are most welcome to drop into the hall today too.
Students will bring home flyers with information about the classes!
