Public Education Week may have been a couple of weeks ago, but here at LHC, we celebrate public education every day.
Many of our teachers were once public school students themselves, and their own experiences helped shape their passion for education. Now it is time to see if you can recognise some familiar faces from their school days...
Can you guess the teacher?

A big thank you to all the parents, carers and students who attended our Stage 5 Elective Subject Information Evening on Tuesday 18 August.
It was a great opportunity to share information about the elective choices students have on offer for year 9 and 10, and support students in making informed decisions about their future subject choices.
It was also fantastic to see our teachers showcasing their areas of expertise and sharing their enthusiasm for the subjects and opportunities available at Lismore High Campus.

Congratulations to Caitlin Griffiths!
Caitlin officially graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Chemistry.
Lismore High was proud to form part of Caitlin’s educational journey, and it is wonderful to see where dedication, perseverance and hard work can lead.
We hope Caitlin’s achievement serves as inspiration and a reminder to our current students that your journey can take you anywhere. With hard work, determination and a little belief in yourself, great things are possible.
Congratulations, Caitlin. We are proud to have been part of your journey and wish you all the very best for what comes next!

STATE SEMI-FINALS HERE WE COME!
Yesterday The Rivers Secondary Collage Open Boys Baseball team went up against Muirfield High School. Muirfield, flying up from Sydney had knocked us out of the NSW CHS state competition last year, so we knew they had some talent. The Rivers started with Daniels on the mound, who dominated the first innings only throwing 10 pitches. Early hits from Connolly, Daniels, Dendle and Davis saw a 3-0 lead. Muirfield took advantage of an error in the 4th, bringing the scores closer at 3-2. Davis then came on the mound and threw strike after strike, giving up only one hit. A walk, an error and another hit from Dendle in the 5th, saw us extend the lead to 5-3. Connolly finished the last 4 batters to give us the win!
The team will now travel to Sydney to compete against either Hills Sports High or Endeavour High School in the NSWCHS State Semi Final. This is the third time The Rivers have made the semi-finals, winning the competition in 2019. With such a young team who will only get stronger, can we be state champions once again?
