☕️ Launceston Birth Centre Monthly Get Together ☀️

We’d love to see you there!

Join us on Wednesday 27th May at 10am at the Door of Hope Cafe for our monthly catch up with Birth Centre families and parents-to-be.

This is a relaxed and welcoming space to meet other families, connect with those who have birthed with a private midwife whether at home or at the LBC and chat with others who are curious and exploring what kind of birth experience they’d like to plan and prepare for.

If our midwives aren’t busy welcoming a new arrival, they’ll often pop in too, making it a lovely opportunity to reconnect and have a chat.

If the weather is lovely, we may move to a nearby park instead so please SMS RSVP to Carmel who can let you know of any changes the day before or keep an eye on socials for any last minute updates.

Everyone is welcome bring a friend, your baby, or just yourself 💛

We’re excited to share an update from the Launceston Birth Centre 💛

Here are the photos of the two rooms that need new flooring.

Thanks to the incredible support at our annual celebration, we raised $3,641, which is being put directly towards replacing flooring in our bedrooms and birth house.

To complete both bedrooms properly, we need to lift the old carpet (not ideal for birth 😅) and replace the flooring in both rooms at the same time. This is important for the comfort, safety, and warmth of families using the space, and it will also be more cost-effective in the long run to complete both rooms together rather than returning for a second round of work after another fundraiser.

The total cost to complete both rooms is $4,770, which means we are currently $1,129 short.

We’re now reaching out again for a little extra support:

✨ Do you know a local flooring company who might be willing to sponsor the project or offer a reduced rate to help us complete both rooms together?

✨ Or would you like to contribute towards helping us bridge the gap?

To put it into perspective, if around 20 people donated $50 each, we would almost cover the remaining amount needed.

Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to creating a safe, warm, and welcoming space for birthing families in our community 💛

Please DM us if you would like to contribute or know someone who might be able to help.

Thank you!

Launceston Birth Centre - Monthly Morning Tea ☕🤍

Join us on Thursday 26th March at 10am
📍 Door of Hope Café

Come along and connect with other families in the LBC community. Everyone is welcome, whether you’ve birthed through Launceston Birth Centre, are currently pregnant, or are simply wanting to meet other mums and families.

If you’re considering working with a private midwife, this is also a lovely chance to chat with other families and hear their experiences. When available, the private midwives try to attend... although being called to a birth at the last minute is always a possibility!

There’s plenty of space for babies, prams and toddlers, so bring the little ones along.

Please SMS Carmel to RSVP.

We’re really looking forward to connecting again 🤍

Such a lovely night celebrating the Launceston Birth Centre ✨

The first photo is some of the incredible midwives who were able to join us on the night — it meant so much to have them there.

The photos in between capture the beautiful community who came along to support the Birth Centre. Seeing so many familiar faces in the room was really special and a reminder of how much this space means to so many.

The last photo is the midwives who regularly work at the Birth Centre, caring for families day in and day out. On the night we also said goodbye to Josephine, who has been with us for the past 12 months and is now heading back to Victoria. We’re so grateful for everything she brought to the team and wish her all the very best for this next chapter.

We also welcomed Marine, who has already settled in so well and feels like she’s been part of the team forever.

It really is the people — both the care providers and the community — who make this place what it is 🤍

We raised enough on the night to replace the flooring in one bedroom, which is incredible. We are now so close to being able to replace the flooring in a second bedroom — we just need another $1600.

If you would like to donate towards the second room, please do so by March 9th.

Celebrating Community – LBC Fundraiser Update

Wow. We are so incredibly grateful.

Thanks to your generosity and support at our Celebration Fundraiser Night, we raised an amazing $3,641 for the Launceston Birth Centre 💛

This means we now have enough to replace the flooring in one of our bedrooms, something that will truly refresh and care for the space where so many beautiful birth stories begin.

And here’s the exciting part…
If we were to raise an additional $1,600, we could replace the flooring in two bedrooms instead of one.

There is absolutely no pressure at all. The night was already a huge success. But if anyone feels inspired to contribute toward helping us reach that second room, we would be so incredibly thankful.

A very special thank you to Alida for providing such a wonderful venue, plenty of delicious food, beautiful service, and the perfect space to showcase our silent auction items.

To everyone who generously donated auction items, thank you.
To those who bid and won, thank you.
To every single person who attended and supported the evening, thank you.

And to our incredible midwives, thank you for the work you have done over the last 12 months. The care, dedication, and heart you pour into families in our community does not go unnoticed.

Upkeeping our LBC home is something we genuinely love doing. Holding an annual fundraiser allows us to continue nurturing and maintaining this special space for the families who walk through its doors.

We are so proud to be part of this community.

Thanks again!
The LBC Committee.
