A little about my coaching journey
I started competitive cycling in the 1990’s and have been involved regularly since. I’ve always been reasonably competitive in my age group for XC Mountain biking. I’ve done more mountain bike and road races than I care to remember.
Coaching wise I started whilst in my 20’s with Canoe Polo then Slalom Kayaking. In 2009 I started working with juniors in mountain biking through the LMBC Junior Development Squad. My official coaching journey started in 2015 with me gaining a Development Coaching certificate from Mountain Bike Australia. This was followed in 2016 with a Cycling Australia Development Coaching certificate in Road and Track. 2020 saw me sneak in a PMBIA Level 1 instructors certification before COVID. Then in 2022 I gained an Advanced Coach qualification in MTB and Road from AusCycling.
Since 2015 I’ve coached athletes that have won the MTBA National series (U15), Marathon National champ (U15),won the MTBA National cup (U19), National XCO champ (U17), medalist in National XCO (U19), medalist in Marathon (M5) amongst other achievements.
I’m committed to working with my athletes on a healthy balance of training and racing with other aspects of their life. I am thoroughly holistic in my approach offering advice on bike set up, nutrition, mental fortitude and strength and conditioning alongside training load/sessions and skills/technique instruction.
I really enjoy helping athletes be at their best, not just in riding but in other aspects of life too.

Jordan has been offered a place with Canberra based Mountain Bike team, Austrander Medical Coaching and thus he has finished his time with 2πRAD. It has been a delight to work with Jordan for the past 2 years, helping him to help achieve his cycling goals. Jordan’s dedication to training, passion for the sport and his community spirit have been the highlights for me. Jordan progressed his fitness, strength, power, racing tactics, nutrition and overall wellbeing during these last couple of years. . He has embraced cycling, branching out into Marathon and Road. I look forward to following his future progression and wish him all the best.
If you are looking to progress yourself in the sport of cycling then get in touch. I have places available. The number of athletes I coach is restricted so that I have the time to give each of them highly personalised programs. I’m thoroughly holistic in my approach, covering a multitude of aspects involved in achieving your best in cycling.

Good week for 2πRAD. Jordan performed very well in Hobart last weekend. 4th on day 1 and 5th on day 2 in the AusCycling National Series. Very impressed with his improvement from last season! I was 2nd both days in Masters 6, pretty happy with that too.
Yesterday, Tas State Champs were held at the awesom Osmaston course. Jordan was leading but then suffered a flat. Still finished the day with the fastest lap time in U19M and a silver medal. I also managed a silver in M5/6 after watching Mark Leis ride off on the first major climb.

I coached Sharon for about 15 months, with her goal to race at the Master Marathon World Champs in Dwellingup. There were many other intermediate goals along the way.
Below is a summary of Sharon's experience working with me to help achieve her goals.
Adrian is an excellent and extremely knowledgeable mountain bike coach, providing both training plans and skills sessions. He is always approachable, calm and only a message or phone call away. Personally, as a masters athlete, I found the weekly check ins to discuss my training plan and ask how I was going hugely valuable. Adrian always listened to any concerns I had and if required, adjusted my plan to suit. I had some amazing results with Adrian’s coaching including a podium at the UCI World Masters MTB Championships in 2023. I can’t recommend Adrian highly enough as a coach and mentor.
Get in touch with a message or phone call if you'd like help to achieve your cycling goals.

It is with both sadness and excitement that I'd like to let you know that Maya has decided to move on to another coach.
Sadness, as the last 3+ years working with Maya has been a real privilege. We have been on an amazing journey. Maya has been so receptive and worked hard to realise improvement in so many areas of her riding and her approach to training and racing. I'm proud of what we achieved together. Under 17 National Champ in 2022, 2nd Under 19 Nationals in 2023, selection to race in Japan plus so many other highlights. I too have learnt much along the journey, I always enjoy increasing my knowledge.
Excitement, as I look forward to seeing Maya continue to improve and evolve as a rider. Thank you for trusting me to work with you Maya. I wish you all the best as you continue to follow your dreams, I know that you will give it your best.
This means that I now have space for another athlete.
If you'd like highly individualised and holistic help to develop your riding please get in touch. I have very limited spaces so as to ensure that I have the time to give all of my athletes the attention that you deserve.
