One week on, and we're still buzzing about the Schools Triathlon Challenge at last week's Devonport events! Seeing so many students from Years 3-12 giving their all, cheering each other on, and embracing the spirit of triathlon (or biking, running, and swimming) was truly great to see! This incredible Tasmanian event reminds us how bright the future is with such passionate young people, supportive families, and dedicated teachers in our community.
πBravo to everyone involved - you may have just ignited a spark for each competitor that will last a lifetime!
All the best with the last of the Hobart events today!

The episodes keep ticking by! πππ
In this episode, I share my approach to teaching students about Striking and fielding games from the ground up. This layered, differentiated approach allows students to slowly grasp a deeper understanding of the skills, strategies, and tactics involved in Striking and fielding games.
While I share this approach with a focus on my Grade 5 classes, I have successfully used it with the Junior classes within my schools in previous years.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share our 'why' behind DTB at the Young Change Agents - E3 Unconference Dinner! It was inspiring to share how DTB is making a positive difference for students.
Blown away by the examples of young talent Young Change Agents are cultivating in the entrepreneurial space! Bravo!
Wishing all E3 Unconference participants an amazing time here in Launceston! Weβre so proud to share the best of our beautiful corner of the world with you. Enjoy!

Did we hear Gamification! Worth a listen!!
Episode 33 with Chris Goldstraw π§
Loved having the opportunity to sit down with Chris (aka Goldy) and talk about his wide ranging teaching experiences.
Goldy has a wealth of knowledge which has stemmed from working abroad at a Summer Camp, working in a variety of schools and educative roles, as well as coaching Australian Football at a Junior Representative level.
We spoke about how to engage students within PE lessons through Gamification, how he uses a wide array of assessment tools, the way in which he incorporates well-being into his PE program, and the strong links between Coaching and Teaching.
A fantastic chat that I am sure will inspire an idea or three.

Another day and another great podcast from Headsuphpe!
Episode 32 is now live π¨ π§
In this episode I share my approach to embracing the Olympics and Paralympics when they were on earlier in the year. This approach led to plenty of engagement, cooperation, teamwork, and most importantly, fun for all!
The best part is, while it worked perfectly during the Olympics/Paralympics, it is an approach that can be used at any point in the year, it just happened to tie in very nicely.
