New Growth Tutoring

A nice little full-circle moment...
Four years ago, I noticed a girl in my class wasn't getting the support she needed. She had dyslexia, but was undemanding and in my opinion, overlooked. I offered her some additional help. And now, here I am, tutoring 25 + kids each week.
That kid looked me up recently, wanting some help in preparation for her Year 10 English exam. So nice to see her again, and then to hear she passed her exam.

The reason I love tutoring is that it gives me permission to slow things down and strive for deep understandings.

Intentionally Slowing Down to Ensure That Students Learn Material Deeply Teachers who are tempted to race through the curriculum to cover everything may want to reconsider and slow down a bit so that students can learn the most important content better.

Its always affirming when parents are given feedback from their child's teacher that reflects the work we do here.

Developing general knowledge is valuable for all aspects of literacy.
