100 Years of Stanford Merthyr Infants School Part 5

This week we’re looking at some of the people and symbols that have been part of our school’s story.

Our school logo reflects Stanford Merthyr’s proud mining heritage, while our list of Heads of School traces more than a century of education in Stanford Merthyr - including May Fitzpatrick, the first Head of the re-established Infants School in 1926, through to our current Principal, Wendy Moss.

💙 Happy Father’s Day! 💙

Today we celebrate and acknowledge all the wonderful dads, stepdads, grandads, father figures, and significant men who play an important role in the lives of our children and families.

Whether through a guiding hand, a listening ear, a shared laugh, words of encouragement or simply being there when needed — your love, support and presence make a lasting difference.

Wishing all the fathers and father figures in our community a very Happy Father’s Day! 🌟

💙 Celebrating Our Dads, Stepdads, Grandads & Significant Men! 💙

What a wonderful Paper Planes & Pizza Evening as we celebrated the special men who play such an important role in the lives of our students. ✈️🍕

From dads and stepdads to grandads, uncles, mentors and significant male role models, we loved seeing our school community come together for an evening of fun, laughter, connection and a little friendly paper-plane competition!

These moments are about so much more than pizza and paper planes — they’re about belonging, building relationships and celebrating the people who support, encourage and inspire our children every day. ❤️

A very Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads, stepdads, grandads and significant men in our school community. We hope you feel celebrated and appreciated today and always! 💙✈️🍕

🌟 Celebrating Indigenous Literacy Day! 🌟

Our AET students, from Kindergarten to Year 2, had an exciting and memorable morning at Kurri Kurri High School. They joined KKHS AET students and their wonderful Aboriginal Education Team for a special celebration filled with cultural activities.
A wonderful adventure for our young students as they experienced being at the high school and immersed themselves in the day’s meaningful events.
We are excited to continue this wonderful partnership and look forward to regularly attending and immersing ourselves in Aboriginal histories and culture learning alongside our local High School and community.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this celebration so special – what a beautiful way to honour and celebrate Indigenous Literacy and culture! 💙✨

Off to Zone!
Congratulations to Willow and Lyric, who will be proudly representing our school at the Zone Public Speaking Competition! 🎤👏
Both girls did an amazing job with their speech and we are proud of their confidence and effort. We wish them both the very best of luck!
