rk in partnership with Sensational Kids OT to provide Equine Therapy sessions. Posh Pony offers caring and professional Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) programs to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to find a unique way of connecting, communicating and caring. Our programs provide therapeutic horsemanship that can be tailored to assist in developing specific learning outcomes, NDIS goals or a holistic approach to physical and emotional wellbeing. Equine Assisted Learning will foster your capacity to understand and respect the natural environment and the interdependence between people, plants, animals and the land. Posh Pony is proud to be an NDIS Registered Provider. Beginner Lessons are held in our boutique facility on a lunge line where the rider will be supported to learn in safe, confined environment. We start with the basics of approaching the pony, grooming and gaining a connection to mounting and learning to walk and trot. Alvin the pony and Zappa the horse are both beautiful, gentle souls, perfect for beginner riders. Lessons can be 30 or 60 minutes in Kurnell. Pony Rides are perfect for young children who love horses and ponies but aren’t quite ready to learn to ride independently. We will introduce you to our beautiful pony Alvin and take your child for a leisurely walk so they can safely experience all the joy ponies can bring. Alvin has been working with children for many years and loves children just as much as they love him. Pony rides are 15 minutes in Kurnell. Pony Parties are so much fun! Alvin loves a good dress up and he is happy to come colour themed or even dressed as a super hero, unicorn or fairy. Our parties are vibrant and flexible in their delivery; this ensures that the interests, learning styles and abilities of individual children and families are catered for. The party child and their guests will receive lots of love and attention from Alvin and can have pony rides, pats and all the cuddles they want. Each guest will also receive a lolly bag. Pony parties are two hours and can be at your party venue within Sutherland Shire or St George areas. As the Director of Posh Pony, a mother and animal lover, Karen is passionate about connecting people with animals and nature to make magic happen. From tiny little shifts to life-changing transformations, Karen has seen it all working with her horses and participants. Watching people relax, build their confidence, overcome anxiety, increase strength, fitness and resilience while with her horses; these are the things that make Karen's heart sing. Karen has created a beautiful suburban farm environment at her premises in Kurnell, with a well loved vege garden, chickens, dogs, cats and of course, Frank Zappa the horse and Alvin the pony. Karen's qualifications include:
* Diploma of Counselling (currently studying)
* Diploma of Children’s Services (Outstanding Achievement award)
* Diploma of Outside of School Hours Care
* Certificate III in Animal studies
* Current First Aid, anaphylaxis and asthma certificates
* Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
Frank Zappa is our loveable thoroughbred at 16hh. He started life as a race horse but was too slow around the track so became a show jumper before graduating to a pleasure horse. And he is such an incredible pleasure horse and so gorgeous to ride! His beautiful nature and handsome looks make him very popular with our clients. His gentle and quiet disposition are perfect for his therapy work. You're guaranteed to fall in love with Mr Zappa. Alvin is our cheeky pony. He is a Welsh Section A X Australian Miniature Pony and stands just 10.2hh. He has been part of the Posh Pony family since 2013, visiting children's hospitals, working from Posh Pony HQ as a therapy pony and giving rides at parties. He has touched the lives of so many people and brought so much joy to everyone he meets, he is just incredible. He's also sassy and breaks into the house and feed shed often.
