This week’s assembly was extra special as we farewelled Miss Chloe. Thank you, Miss Chloe, for being a wonderful teacher and for all the care and support you have given our students. You will be missed! 🌸

A group of students and staff joined Miss Chloe at the airport to say one final goodbye and wave as her plane took off. ✈️👋

We wish you all the very best for your next adventure, Miss Chloe! 🥰

The Year 1/2 class used their artistic and cooking skills to make pizzas. First, they designed their own pizza with paper cutouts then they headed to the kitchen to make the real thing🍕 The children had lots of fun making and of course, eating the pizza😋

Yesterday was another great day at the Kapi Training Café! ☕️

It was wonderful to have lots of community members drop into the coffee shop, including Police Officers Rob and Sally, and RAES staff Amy and Caroline.

Our trainee baristas, Kenisha and Kyiesha, were kept busy making an impressive 27 coffees and hot chocolates! ☕️👏

A big shout-out also to Kallon, Zarlos, and Eden, who helped with deliveries around the campus.

Yesterday Waburton and Wanarn Campuses had a wonderful day celebrating NAIDOC! ❤️💛🖤

A huge thank you to all of our families, community members, local and visiting organisations who helped make our celebration so special.

Students and families enjoyed a wonderful range of activities throughout the day, including canvas painting, face painting, making damper, Tjanpi weaving, billy can races, and sharing a delicious community barbecue cooked over the fire. It was a fantastic opportunity to come together, celebrate the rich culture of the Ngaanyatjarra Lands, and celebrate what makes our community so special. 🔥

Our High School students have been working incredibly hard to bring the Kapi Training Café at the Ngaanyatjarra Council Office to life. While there’s still plenty to do before we officially open our doors, students have been busy developing valuable hospitality skills. They are learning to make coffees and hot chocolates while working towards their Barista and Safe Food Handling certificates.

The Kapi Training Café has been a fantastic collaborative project between Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku and the Mirlirrtjarra Arts Centre. A huge thank you to Tammie, Francesca, Phil and Marcelle for helping set up the coffee machine and teaching our students how to use it. Tammie and Francesca have also been working closely with students to build their barista skills and confidence.

We’ve been lucky to have David, Michelle, Matteo, Mark and Max taste-test our coffees, while Roelene and Christine sampled our delicious hot chocolates. Thank you to everyone who has offered their time, encouragement and feedback as we continue preparing for our official opening. We can’t wait to welcome the community to the Kapi Training Café very soon!

Year 5/6 Learning Week 3
Our students are engaging exceptionally well in their literacy block and are enjoying
our sustainability lesson. By calculating ingredient costs and examining packaging waste, they discovered how homemade choices support both the household budget and the planet.
