Russell is the resident poet at the RM Williams Australian Bush Learning Centre in Eidsvold, QLD. Poetry works are currently on display at the RMWABLC with merchandise available for purchase. Russell enthusiastically participates at council presentations, motivational school activities, arts festivals, Anzac commemoration and other events.

From The Westerner:
The courage of indigenous Australians who have served in the military will be honoured at a NAIDOC Week event being hosted by the Kupidabin Cultural Association at Mt Samson this Sunday.
